Duart Hospital has 46 beds for residents needing hospital level care.

We pride ourselves on excellent clinical care, going above and beyond for our residents and their families. Our experienced staff and 24 hour Registered Nursing Care take pride in caring for both our residents and their loved ones. Many of Duart's staff have worked in aged care for over 20 years, so there is a core group of very experienced staff at this facility. Our residents are family and we are honoured to be able to work in their home.

Our stunning Hawke's Bay views are breath taking in any weather and multiple lounges and gardens give a variety of options for a change of scenery. Our activities programme is varied with something to interest everyone. Food is very important here at Duart. Our menu has been designed by an award winning chef is both delicious and nutritious.

Located in Havelock North; Duart is part of the Oceania Group, a New Zealand Aged Care Association member.

At Duart we have an extensive activity programme run by our Diversional Therapist and Activities Assistants which includes activities such as keep fit classes, quizzes, baking, reading, topical projects, visiting entertainers and sing-alongs. We like to have outings twice a week to varied local places. We also know how important staying in touch with our residents is through regular one on one time.

We can assist or provide contact with services such as Age Concern, Alzheimer's Society, Arthritis society, Blind Foundation, Parkinson's Society, and the RSA.

Details about Meals Tasty, varied and nourishing meals are a feature of life at Duart. We have a summer and a winter menu which are rotated every four weeks. Our main meal is served at midday with a lighter meal served in the evening. Breakfast is served fresh to our residents rooms with a wide choice. Morning and afternoon tea and a light supper mean our residents are never hungry.
Staffing Qualifications and Details Registered Nurses are on site 24 hours a day as well as good staffing levels at all times. We have some very long serving staff here at Duart - some have been with us for 20 years and are now part of the family.
