We offer a range of Premium rooms in different sizes, each with varying features to suit your needs and budget. Depending on the room you choose, features may include an ensuite or Jack and Jill bathroom, a pleasant outlook, or outdoor access, helping you feel comfortable and at home.

Standard rooms are large enough for a single bed, a chair and a wardrobe or chest of drawers. The cost of a standard room is included in the Care Services Fee set by the Health New Zealand – Te Whatu Ora.

Details about meals

Tasty, varied and nourishing meals are a feature of life at Duart. We have a summer and a winter menu which are rotated every four weeks.

Our main meal is served at midday with a lighter meal served in the evening. Breakfast is served fresh to our residents rooms with a wide choice. Morning and afternoon tea and a light supper mean our residents are never hungry.

Special features

At Duart we have the most fabulous views of the Havelock, Napier and Hastings areas. Having a slightly elevated position the views stretch right back to the ranges and provide a restful but ever changing outlook.

Interests & activities

At Duart we have an extensive activity programme run by our Diversional Therapist and Activities Assistants which includes activities such as keep fit classes, quizzes, armchair travel experiences, reading, topical projects, visiting entertainers and sing-alongs. We like to have outings twice a week to varied local places. We also know how important staying in touch with our residents is through regular one on one time.

We can assist or provide contact with services such as Age Concern, Alzheimer's Society, Arthritis society, Blind Foundation, Parkinson's Society, and the RSA.
