Athenree Lifecare is a unique family owned and oriented facility with breath-taking views of the Shelly Bay Estuary. Having simple access to the Athenree Hot Pools, Waihi Beach, Bowen Town park, shops and wildlife viewing are just a few of the benefits of our location. Our dementia wing and purpose built garden is also highly regarded by the residents and visitors. |

We have an activity program that is changed weekly and approved by a Diversional Therapist and implemented by our Activities Coordinator. We are able to access the Alzheimer's Society for anybody that is interested or looking for a support group. Art classes available. We have regular BBQ's through the summer months. We have books available and have access to the local libraries. We have weekly bingo/housie. We are able to acess the Blind Foundation for anybody requiring this service. Board games are available. Indoor bowls within the home can be played and occasionaly go to other homes for inter-resthome bowls competions. Breakfast in bed is an option that can be offered at Athenree Lifecare. Canine friends are something that can be negotiated at Athenree Lifecare. We have several residents cats, and a bird called Manu. We have regular SAYGO. Children are welcome in the home as visitors. We occasionally have talent quests performed by children, or visiting children groups within the home like brownies or kindergarden groups. We don't have a church attached to our facility but we have a monthly communion service. We endeavour to organise transport to church services for those that wish this. Concerts - through November/December we have concerts put on by different organisations. Through this coming year we hope to have different groups come in regularly to perform. Cooking and crafts are a regular activity. Any one interested in flower arranging is encouraged to help with arranging flowers around the home. We have a skype, face time email or other internet services available for anyone wanting to keep up with family and friends. We have a large area outside with gardens for walks. Happy hour occurs regularly without fail. Massages are offered through our diversional therapy program along with foot spa's. Athenree Lifecare has a van which is used regularly to take residents on outings. Movie viewings can be arranged. |
