Athenree Lifecare is a family owned and oriented rest home, hospital and dementia care facility that provides 24 hour care for those who can no longer manage safely on their own.

We also provide respite care, palliative care, an activities based day care programme and a soon to be introduced dementia night care programme that caters for families with a member suffering from Alzheimer's or other associated conditions.

5 minutes off SHW2 between Katikati and Waihi, our unique location positions us between the BOP and Waikato/Coromandel Peninsula regions.

Situated on the waters edge of the Shelly Bay Estuary, our residents have stunning views of the water, native flora and fauna. Our recently extended and revamped purpose built dementia garden is also very popular with residents and visitors.

Healthy, nutritious meals approved by a dietitian are prepared by our very experienced cook Sue, and residents feedback is sought daily from Sue and her kitchen staff.

A full activities programme that changes weekly is organised by our Activities Coordinator Nicola. A very popular activity includes visits to the Athenree Hot Springs Thermal Mineral Pools; which is immensely satisfying for our residents. Visiting family and friends are encouraged to participate in all activities.

We welcome your enquiries and look forward to seeing you soon :)
