All rooms have sunny, garden views. we would be pleased to give you a tour our facility which is now certificated by Ministry of Health audit to provide hospital and palliative care as well as residential care. We also welcome respite and carer support clients and those clients seeking permanent placement.
We run a popular Day care service where clients can have their midday meal, plus morning and afternoon tea and are able to participate in the activities programme if they choose.

Physiotherapist Yes The Physio department at Gore Health is supportive of our residents who require their services and will do "house calls" for assessments and designing of exercise programmes.

Podiatrist Yes Rebecca comes to Albany house on a monthly basis. She attends to tricky toes,toenails and soothes tired feet. Rebecca's visits are always popular:the residents enjoy her cheerful manner as she goes about her work.
Dietitian Yes We access the the expertise of our dietitian in regard to special diets e.g. diabetic diets. Jenny advises re food quality/portions; she regularly audits our menus with an overview of staff who are HACCP trained.
Accredited Visitors Yes Church groups are represented by specific people from the congregation who come to give Holy Communion.
Kaumatua Yes We are able access the service of Kaumatua from the Hokonui Marae when needed.
Chaplain/Spiritual Advisor Yes Clergy of all denominations visit regularly. is held An interdenominational service is held every Sunday after lunch.

Respite Yes All short term stay people are offered sunny,individual rooms with garden views. We are a boutique,villa style family home and take pride in our relaxed environment where everybody is treated as family and all cares are met.
Carer Support or other Short Stay Yes We welcome carer support residents or other short stay people. We work with people and their families to provide excellence of care in a homely, warm environment where the food is fabulous and the trained staff are friendly and willing to help.
Advance bookings taken Yes Families who may need to access carer support or respite are very welcome to make advance bookings:we are happy to work with people and their families to ensure that they can plan holidays and special events.
Subsidised service Yes We are pleased to offer a high quality service to all people who wish to make their home at Albany House.

Special Features
The home is a spacious, well presented character building with modern facilities.
Our residents enjoy a comfortable, family orientated environment with great care by dedicated staff.We also have lots of fun and celebrate special events at every opportunity...Birthdays, Christmas,Easter,Royal babies and Anzac to name but a few. Our home cooking and baking is highly regarded and much enjoyed by residents, families and visitors. There is a TV lounge for Sky TV and a large screen in our main lounge for movies, DVDs and games. The gardens around the home are easily accessible (flowers and vegetables) and the court yards are popular on sunny days.

Interests & Activities
Our activity programme is extensive and varied. Music,bowls,housie, board games. quizzes and word games are popular. Active participation is encouraged and we also recognise that often some people quiet time to read or rest or contemplate.
We have a Library with large print books and the Librarian visits 2 weekly.
We have entertainers from the coummunity who provide music and story telling.
Childrens groups frequently attend to sing to our residents.
Local clothing stores provide style days so that clothing can be purchased al Albany House.
All festive holidays are treated as special occasions and birthdays are a big event with flowers and cream sponge on the big day.

Anglican Yes We have pastoral visitors who attend Albany House on a regular basis to nuture and maintain close spiritual links for those who attend the Anglican church. Holy Trinity Church also conducts interdenominational services throughout the year.
Denominations/Faiths represented Yes Anglican, Presbyterian, Catholic, Baptist,Christian Fellowship, Salvation Army and New Life.
Presbyterian Yes Regular pastoral visits help to retain a sense of church community with those who attend the Presbyterian church which also conducts interdenominational services at Albany House.

Public Transport 1.10 km Gore taxis provide a prompt, efficient service including the wheelchair Taxi. Residents are eligible for taxi chits.Some residents enjoy the walk to town on sunny days.
Shops 1.10 km We enjoy the services of our department store (H&J's) as well as the smaller boutique style shops which over a wide range of goods for all ages and styles.
Mall 1.10 km The town is compact and easily accessible with wide streets and pavements with plenty of safe crossings. The café scene is well represented: a great way to socialise with friends or family.The restaurants are excellent,easy to access with delish menus!!!!
Parks 0.50 km The Gore Botanical gardens are on the way to town and well worth a brief detour to check out all the fabulous plantings and colour. The rhododendrons are beautiful in season.
Library 1.20 km The Gore library is fantastic with a huge range of large print books plus magazines, DVDs and CD's. The librarians bring books to Albany House and collect which is an excellent service for bookworms who are not as mobile but still need their reading Fix!
