Special Features
Our primary goal is to provide a" home" that also has all the clinical support required to care for an older person or a handicapped. We are adjacent to Woodhaugh Gardens and near to the Botanic Gardens in North Dunedin. We are conveniently located being just 2kms from the City Centre and Dunedin Hospital with the Gardens Shopping Centre nearby. Our home's layout allows us to offer five separate areas, each with its own lounge and dining area. This creates and feeling of home, and allows residents more options. The overall size and scale of our home means that we can offer a large range of services including outings and activities. Please call us if you wish to have more information. |

Interests & Activities
We have an extensive Activity programme available that is co-ordinated by our qualified, experienced Diversional Therapist. Regular activities include Newspaper readings, Quizzes, Housie, our own Library (with Big print books available), Cribbage, Crafts, Church Services, Visits and Concerts from Children from local schools and kindergartens, Entertainers and Indoor Games. Personal Shopping for necessities is available upon request of families. |

Staffing qualifications and details | Recognizing that some of our hospital level residents have increased medical needs we have a Registered Nurse on site 24/7. Our home has Doctors who visit two days per week and are available at short notice if needed more frequently. Physiotherapy and other medical related services are available as required. There are caregivers are on duty 24/7 and other staff are here every day. Our staff are available for support amd assistance up on request. Our night staff are available to help if sleep is a problem, even if it is just for a cup of tea and just a chat. | |
Details about meals | All residents are invited out to the dining room or offered breakfast in bed. We provide regular meals including morning tea with snacks. Lunch as a main, and afternoon tea consist of a selection of sweet and savoury dishes, dinner and supper. Fruit is served with all meals and also available on request. Our four week rotating menu changes depending on the summer and winter produce. Each menu is checked and reviewed by dietition. Residents can order alternative meals if they choose. Meals can be served in rooms if desired. | |
