Located next to a public reserve with stunning views all the way across to Kawau Island, most rooms feature access to outdoor areas for rest home and hospital residents. The local beachside town and shopping hub of Orewa is only a few minutes away.

CHT Healthcare Trust is a not-for-profit organisation with over 60 years' experience taking great care of older people through a network of quality care homes.

Diversional Therapist Yes CHT has a diversional therapist who works closely with our activities co-ordinators to provide a stimulating programme for our residents
Activities Co-ordinator 35 Yes Between our two activities co-ordinators 5 hours of activities are provided daily and these include links with our greater community via both trips and members of the community coming to Halldene.
Hairdresser Yes Our hairdresser visits once weekly and will do perms, cuts, shaves and hair colouring as desired for a reasonable price.
Podiatrist Yes Our podiatrist visits every six weeks to tend to residents' foot care.
Dietitian Yes Our menus are designed by a dietitian. We also have access to a dietitian through the local DHB for those requiring specialised care in this area.
Accredited Visitors Yes We have a number of volunteers who visit Halldene. These include SPCA Pet Outreach and members of the local community who love to spend time with the elderly.
Kaumatua Negotiable Liaison with kaumatua can be arranged if needed/desired.
Chaplain/Spiritual Advisor Negotiable We have access to ministers from various denominations and will contact them at a resident's or family's request. A local church group also visit once weekly.

Interests & Activities
Interests and activities include themed days, such as Fathers' Day, Loud Shirt Day, Bubble Day. We also have indoor games, visits from entertainers, school children and a number of pets. Our aim is to establish a greater bond with the community, both bringing in various community groups and going out to visit them.
