Carmen Frame Director
My name is Carmen and I have been successfully operating Companion Care NZ as from 2011. I was born in Christchurch and have lived in the south of the city all of my life. I have always had a strong passion and have had several years’ experience supporting adults in the area of aged care and disabilities, including mental health, dementia, and health conditions. I have worked and trained in both the community, residential settings as a care giver and mental health support worker. Further to my training I am full licensed to carry passengers and police vetted in New Zealand with an up-to-date Saint John’s First Aid Certificate. I am Double Vaccinated for COVID -19 as at April 2021 and received my booster on the 9th of December 2021.
I have expansive experience, knowledge, and empathy of adult challenging life experiences. Therefore, I recognize the importance for social engagements and enhanced support to have a better quality of life. I value my client’s individuality and am passionate to ensure my clients feel special by having a positive active input in their lives. It is a privilege to work in this field and I find my work meaningful and rewarding.
I am married with two adult sons. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, walking especially up and around the Port Hills, cycling, gardening, travelling, movies and concerts.
The Team
Companion Care staff are carefully selected ensuring they are mature, fully trained, police vetted, empathetic to one’s needs and passionate in their desire to provide care and support to our clients.

To Whom It May Concern

It is my pleasure to be able to recommend Carmen Frame to you. I have known Carmen for over 10 years and during that time she has been employed by myself in an Advocacy/supportive care role.
In her work with my clients, I have always found Carmen to be reliable and trustworthy as well as being a conscientious advocate for those she supports. She is well organised and an excellent communicator who not only completes her client work with warmth and care but also manages her administrative work with efficiency and reliability.
She is also a good team player and approaches issues with maturity and insight. She is responsible and can be trusted to work under pressure if necessary.
Carmen would be an asset to any business or organisation, and I highly recommend her.

Yours sincerely

Mary E Fraser

When I did some work for you Carmen, you struck me as a very caring person - you showed
a real passion for what you were doing. Years later, after I moved away from Christchurch, I
needed someone to spend time with my dear friend after she had to go into care. I thought
of you immediately. My friend suffers from dementia and most of the time speaks a garbled
foreign language, but you still form a bond and are a special friend to her. You sort out her
drawers, get her ready to go out, you go shopping with her and label her new clothes for
her. You take her out for coffees, walks (different place every time), sing along with her to
rock n roll songs in the car (which she just loves) and settle her back in when you get home. I
wish I could be there with her more often myself but knowing that you are there doing this
for her, plus the girly things you do together, gives me peace of mind and makes me
incredibly grateful. Thank you so much Carmen, from the bottom of my heart. Oh, and the
monthly reports are also very much appreciated and put a smile on my face.

Carmen is an absolute gem!
My Mum is very fortunate to have Carmen provide in home support
to enable her to remain safely at home with respect, dignity, joy and
hope.
Carmen uses her initiative and takes Mum out on interesting outings
and also sees that her immediate care needs are attended to. This
includes all personal cares, mobility assistance, shopping, clothing,
meal preparation, appointments, house hold duties and welcoming
and supporting visitors to the home. She also takes extra care to
communicate openly with the family about any needs or just things
to share and chat about.
When Carmen is with Mum the family can relax and take time out
knowing that Mum is having a wonderful high quality time with
Carmen.
Carmen’s cheerful, warm, empathetic and very caring personality
makes her a delight to have assisting. At times, her sister Ruth also
assists her. Ruth also provides outstanding friendly, kind and
supportive care.

Testimonial for Carmen Frame of Companion Care.
Hilda's happiest time of the week was Monday when Carmen of Companion Care arrived to take
Hilda for her outing.
Hilda decided where she wanted to go and what she wanted to do. Often it was to watch the horseriding club activities. Hilda had been a keen horse rider in the past.
Other outings were to the seaside or else a drive around the city or to the countryside.
Getting a takeaway cappuccino was part of the routine!
Often there was also a visit to a florist as Hilda liked fresh flowers in her room at the retirement
village.
Carmen also accompanied Hilda for her dental and optician appointments. Carmen stayed with Hilda
as a support person.
Hilda loved animals and most of all she loved dogs! Carmen organised visits with her dog (Millie) plus
other trained carer dogs.
Hilda loved the chance to pat these dogs and talk to their owners. This was a real highlight of her
week.
Hilda played the piano and the accordion. Carmen organised a music therapist to visit Hilda. They
would play music together. Hilda really enjoyed this as it rekindled her love of music.
Carmen is very good at communicating, she kept in touch via emails and texts to let me know how
Hilda was enjoying her outings or how an appointment went.
Hilda went from being very unhappy and lonely to a person who was looking forward to her many
activities and to her human and dog visitors!
Whenever I went to visit Hilda, she had lots of stories to tell me. Always about her latest outing with
Carmen! Also, I got to hear about any dog that had visited her!
Carmen put together a photo album of Hildas favourite places that she like to visit. Also, of her many
dog visitors. Hilda enjoyed showing me these and talking about them.
I can absolutely recommend Carmen and her business Companion Care.
Carmen really cares about her clients.
I knew that Hilda was in safe hands and that she was happy in Carmen's care.
Thank you, Carmen!
