Myra and all the staff at Poneke House. Thank you so much for looking after mum so beautifully for the last few weeks of her life. Every staff member with whom we dealt was caring, compassionate and totally professional. While it was difficult to watch her slipping away over the last few weeks, it was made much easier by the knowledge that she was in such wonderful hands. Thank you so much (family name withheld).

My sister, daughter and I called into Aroha a couple of weeks ago to see the dementia unit. We were welcomed by Jo Aan who was on duty that weekend. I would like to let you know that we found him to be very professional. His uniform was immaculate and he was very helpful. We saw how he was interacting with the residents and we were very impressed. MD

To all the staff at Aroha Lifecare. On behalf of Rick's family, I would like to say thank you for all the loving care you all gave him during his time with you. I know he gave you a bit of stick at times, but he told me several times that he was being looked after well. Than you also for the support you gave us all while he was there. You were always honest, sensitive and genuinely caring. We always felt welcome and that it was "Dad's Place". It meant a lot to us that his last days were comfortable and peaceful. Arohanui, Faith. M

Throughout our dealings, the staff here have been patient and seem genuinely caring. Facilities are tidy and well kept. AS

What a special place you have in our hearts for love and care you gave our father in the final year of his life. He was happy especially as he could continue to live his life as he wanted, the pipe was in action to the end. You are a loving and care team of wonderful people. Thank you

Dear staff at UCG Poneke House, my uncle loved you all and was never happier than the years he spent with you. You gave him a reason to rise in the morning and I know you will be missing him as much as we are.

To all the staff at Ultimate Care Poneke House we are very grateful for the support and care that our mother was given. Thank you very much.

Many thanks - we had a really lovely lunch yesterday with Mum, and we really appreciate all the effort the staff went to. Lunch was delicious and we were made to feel incredibly welcome.

To all the staff at Poneke House - thanks for all the unconditional love you gave my aunt while she was in your care. You are all my heroes. C.R

A big thank you for taking care of my husband. Everyone was wonderful. Enjoy the chocolates. From L & C

Thanks for being a cheerful, caring crew. I have enjoyed my years helping to care for the residents. Please continue to look after them all and support each other. You do a great job, I'll miss you. - From our retiring doctor

To the staff and management of ultimate care Poneke House,
Many, many thanks for taking care of my mother over the past 5 years at Poneke House. Lots of happy memories! Kindest regards to you all. - A, M & Family

We would love to welcome our new Facility Manager Peter Leach to the Poneke House team!

More information coming soon.

30 November 2018 - Chess Made Easy

Staff and residents playing chess with our new super-sized chess set. This has made it much easier for the resident to play as the chess piece are much larger and easy to handle, it also helps them track every move. Great to see residents playing their once loved game again.

24 October 2018 – Dementia Unit gearing up for Halloween.

We are starting to decorate for Halloween, this complements our already colourful secure dementia unit.  The residents bring more colour by displaying their creations that they have carefully made during the day.  The Poneke House team love having fun together with the resident while making all the different items and it is great to them laughter and have fun.  What we find is that it helps the residents connect with other residents and start forming new friendship which become BFF’s.  This helps them feel loved, important and special especially when their items go on the walls.
