Lakewood has recently refurbished our single rooms with, and without, ensuites. We have no extra charges for a room with an ensuite and no extra charges at all for any of our services.

Lakewood is not a corporate we are a privately owned Rest Home that is operated by the owner.

We pride ourselves in providing quality care. We employ the best staff we can and they all are required to have trained in first aid and be committed to completing Career Force training in caring for people with dementia and cultural awareness.

The sound philosophy of Lakewood's previous owner David O'Neill, in providing excellent and respectful care to people with Dementia, is very much present and ongoing within our Rest Home.

Mary Anne (current Manager) is a NZ Registered Social Worker and has extensive experience in aged care. Mary-Anne works Monday to Friday and is available on call as required

We have a Clinical Nurse Manager Mai Mai ( who is currently on Maternity Leave) and an enrolled Nurse Tina. Vicsha Cabanero, a Registered Nurse, currently works full time Monday to Friday and is on call after hours.

We also have on staff, Loredana who is our Supervisor, managing the day to day operational running of the Rest Home, Sangeeta who is our Diversional Therapist and Chris and Linn preparing home cooked meals, snacks and refreshments on site 7 days a week.

We have several pets in the facility, one being our resident Golden Retriever, Chantilly, who visits daily and provides opportunity for pats and companionship.

Please come and visit us - we are confident that you will feel comfortable in our professional and friendly family environment.
