Pets In Residence Yes Laying hens in hen house and bird aviary. We have volunteers who regularly bring in dogs for residents to enjoy.

Lounges/seating areas Yes Kauri House opens on two sides into a secure garden area complete with gazebo, clothes line, hen house and raised vegetable plots. In addition to the main building Kauri House has a large west facing conservatory which provides an additional sun-filled space for residents and their visitors.
Outings Yes Those residents who are able are taken out of Kauri House each day for walks around the Trust's grounds and gardens by staff from the Lifestyle and Leisure Team. As part of the weekly programme, they also organise regular outings in the Trust's minibus. Residents are brought out of the unit regularly for social activities such as concerts church services and bingo. This also allows them to intergrate with residents from other parts of the complex.

Rural Setting No While not strictly rural, the environment is parklike with multiple walkways including one around the lake. Seating for resting is spread throughout the village. Residents also are taken out into the extensive gardens daily for walks.
