Welcome to Dominion Home: A Sanctuary of Love, Empathy, and Respect
At Dominion Home, we offer more than just care; we offer a family. As a boutique, family-oriented dementia facility, our approach is rooted in creating a nurturing environment where every resident is not just a client, but a cherished part of our extended family. Our specialized focus on dementia care means we cater to various needs, be it long-term stays, respite care, or day-care.
Our team, consisting of long-term care staff with a deep passion for people and expertise in dementia, ensures that your loved ones receive personalized attention that fosters understanding and deep connections. The atmosphere here is filled with joy, laughter, and companionship, greatly attributed to our activities therapist whose warm personality and engaging approach to games and activities are adored by residents and families alike.
While we might not boast grand furnishings or multiple levels, our secure, gated facility, complete with a lovely garden for leisurely walks, is designed to feel like home. We emphasize maintaining a family atmosphere and encourage socialization through regular pet visits, group outings, shopping trips, and personal touches like photos and memorabilia in resident rooms. This commitment creates a sense of belonging and a community where kindness and compassion blossom.
At Dominion Home, we understand that choosing a care facility is an important decision. We invite you to arrange a tour and consultation with our qualified team, who can provide insights into your individual care needs. Here, you can be confident that your loved one will be cared for with the utmost respect and empathy as if they were our own family.
Experience the difference at Dominion Home, where love, empathy, and respect are not just words, but the pillars of our everyday practice.

Testimonials
I would like to express my gratitude for the care of my mum and to the kind carers who do such a wonderful job looking after mum. I have also been really impressed with your activities coordinator. Nearly every time I come to see mum she is engaged in some wonderful activity. She appears happy and is smiling and laughing. She is talking and joking like I used to remember her. I am so grateful and it is so good to see mum engaged as opposed to just sitting alone in her room. I have seen some really positive changes under the new management with the place looking tidier and the walls decorated with some lovely images. It has also been good to see the manager and the registered nurse constantly around and obviously being very visible and involved in the residents and improving the Home. Well done and thanks again. - Sandra My mother Elizabeth has lived here for a few years now. We have always felt very comfortable with the caring homely attitude Dominion Home has for its residents. We are always kept well informed should health problems arise. And whenever there is a reason to celebrate something Dominion Home will grab the chance of a party and family members are welcome too. A huge thanks to all the staff! -Suzanne van Dyk Ref- Dominion Home Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/Dominionhome/notifications/?section=activity_feed&subsection=recommendation&ref=notif&target_story=S%3A_I100000364457288%3A2459923440696447) Guy Needler's Facebook Post to Dominion Home Facebook Page- "I want to give my support, thanks and respect to all the management, staff and carers at Dominion Home, Invermay Avenue, Auckland for looking after my brother, Mark Needler. I am very pleased with the facilities and delighted by the dedicated care, help and assistance the staff give to, not only my brother, but all of the residents at Dominion Home. They are attentive to his needs, and know his ways, as he progresses through his stages of dementia. It was, and still is, my brothers dream and desire to live in New Zealand having first moved here from the UK in the mid 1990's, and the staff at Dominion Home are key to continuing his dream. Although he has dementia, he intuitively knows where he is and that he has the very best care. I am sure that if he was in another facility he would not be as " deep down" happy as he is. Its the quality of the staff that counts and the staff at Dominion are very high quality - for this I am truly grateful. Dominion Home will continue to have my support throughout Marks residency and beyond." Guy Needler |
