Winara Care Home Winara Care Home Winara Care Home
Winara Care Home offers fun, companionship, wholehearted care and all the comforts of home – you'll love the open fire in winter.

The park-like surroundings are lovely and there are wonderful views of Kapiti Island and Reikorangi Valley. When you wake to the sound of birdsong, you'll find it hard to believe you're so close to busy Waikanae Village, with its shops, library and entertainment.

Winara is part of the Bupa group of rest homes, hospitals, retirement villages and personal medical alarms. We are a private company, and because we have no shareholders, we can invest what we earn to make improvements that help us provide better care.

As part of the global Bupa group, we are able to provide superior clinical support, while focusing on helping each of our residents get the most out of each day. Bupa is one of New Zealand’s leading aged care providers.

"Everything is terrific here, girls are excellent and we have a lot of fun. Having been in an empty house, there is always something going on here."

"I like sport - like to play bowls. Love all the entertainers. Enjoy men's group - its quite good and nice."

"We have been thrilled with the way our mother has been transitioned from a small rest home to a larger one. She seems more stimulated, less anxious. She comments on the friendly staff and always looks well groomed and relaxed. A recent chest infection was dealt with quickly and communication with the family was immediate."

"Pleasant life and environment to live in. I can do whatever I want to do like walking and exercising. The way everything is kept well and I am able to do and help because that is the way I want to do and I used to do."

"The loving care and attention shown to patients and visitors by all members of staff."

"Quality care from all nurses, loving environment. Residents well dressed in matching clothes, jewellery, hair done. Excellent food. Good activities."
