To whom it may concern

"I have been attending the senior low impact class for nearly a year and what a difference it's made to my mobility!
I'm not yet a senior and probably the youngest member but
I'd tried a few groups in my area and found that they were too difficult with the issues I have with my back ,shoulder and knee (32 years of hairdressing).
Since attending the class, I can touch my toes! A fabulous result!
My overall fitness has improved and I have met some wonderful people.
Leigh our instructor is a fabulous motivator ,has a great source of knowledge and unlimited enthusiasm.
I thoroughly enjoy my Tuesday morning group."

"Good afternoon,

To whom it may concern,
I would like to pass on my feedback to you re my attendance at the
Senior Hubs Fitness Classes.
I have been participating in the “ Move It Classes “ held by Lee since
she started them.
I can’t say enough about how it has changed my life / lifestyle since
I started I look forward to the classes twice a week & also other
team building activities she offers & as well at a price that most
seniors can afford.
Starting with the best instructor I can say I have ever had, her personality,
energy, friendless, planning & caring nature is hard to fine &
always offering so much variety & making sure we understand our own limits.
What the classes are doing  for me firstly is given me a better outlook
& something to look forward to weekly, friendship, diet, ownership
of our fitness, the classes cover every part of your body, breathing,
stretching, balance & strengthening all area’s.
I no that they are doing me the world of good & feeling a lot
more secure on my feet. So happy with what I have accomplished so far."

"I really look forward to my Tuesday and Thursday Make a Move classes. The improvement in my neck and shoulders through the right exercises is significant.I come away feeling so much better thanks to Lee with her bubbly personality. She is like a ray of sunshine for all of us."

FEILDING MANCHESTER HOUSE SENIOR HUB MAKE A MOVE EXERCISE CLASS.

Make a move exercise classes on Tuesday and Thursday mornings certainly enhance the general health and wellbeing of senior citizens.

We all know the importance of movement to aid general mobility and balance exercises help prevent falls.

I have been away on holiday so missed a few classes and noticed a few aches and pains despite doing a lot of walking. These classes use more muscles so are necessary for overall fitness.

Our instructor Lee Bryan leads us with enthusiasm, sings to music we enjoy appropriate to our age, has a fun sense of humour and a cheeky smile!

Not only are these classes fun to take part in but make you get out of bed in the morning, go out and enjoy the company of other people. You always feel good afterwards!

Therefore the social aspect of these classes is important as well as the physical."

To Whom It Concerns
I have recently joined the Manchester House Senior Hub Aerobics classes held in Feilding on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
Having suffered several falls with injuries and having had surgery last year, I have found it challenging to regain physical fitness. Following on from physio, I have found the sessions run by Lee to be enjoyable, sociable fun and physically and mentally demanding enough for me to feel a marked improvement. I am thankful for the opportunity to be able to attend these sessions.
I hope that funding continues to assist all seniors in our community, to remain fit and assist with balance.
Thank you to Lee and the team.
Kind regards,

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN.

I, being a Senior Citizen and resident of Feilding very much enjoy participating in many activities that the Feilding Senior Hub provide from the Make-a-move aerobics classes twice a week, Bingo, monthly quiz, the monthly entertainment afternoon, the support available from Senior Net plus the Women's Brunch.

We are so priviledged to have and enjoy this facility in Feilding.

Many thanks goes to the amazing Staff Sandy and Lee also to Manchester House Social Services Society INC for all you provide and servicing our community.

Kind Regards

"To whom it may concern

As an avid participator in the 60s Plus exercise group held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Manchester House in Feilding I have nothing but praise for the services it provides for Senior citizens.
It is efficiently run by a wonderful, welcoming group of people, our lovely instructor, Lee is perfectly suited to her role, welcoming newcomers and getting everyone mingling, moving and laughing!
We are so lucky to have this wonderful facility, run by such a caring team; where movement to music is encouraged and friendships are formed in such a nurturing environment and the health benefits are enormous - long may it continue!"

"I first came into contact with the Manchester House Senior Hub in
Feilding in July 2023. My first impression was that Sandy and Lee were incredible and dedicated
to every person who came through the door and immediately felt comfortable and safe. Time
spent at the Hub has shown just how loved these ladies are. Even in the short time that i have
been there i have seen the growth in attendance because of the energy and dedication they give.
The seniors often express how grateful they are for the programmes and especially these ladies,
as well as the positive direction that Hub has taken under them.
I personally regularly attend the low impact seniors exercise classes on a Tuesday and a
Thursday, as well as the monthly craft and trivia mornings as both a volunteer and participant. I
am Autistic with severe and complex mental illnesses and a rare neurological disorder. It has long
been a struggle for me to find a safe space where i can grow and be accepted for who i am. The
Senior Hub has been an unexpected positive when lots was changing in my life. The exercise
classes have proven to be just what I needed for my neurological disorder, it meets my needs in a
way i couldn’t have imagined both in regards my physical health as i am feeling stronger in many
ways from the gentle exercises, as well as the social interactions from from craft and trivia. It has
also been extremely beneficial for my mental health. Having a place to belong for us all is so
important. I struggle socially and i have made connections that are meaningful and fulfilling. It has
also provided a place for me to give back and feel fulfilled. It is something I can do that meets my
limitations and gives me a good reason to stay motivated. I love to see the seniors and the
improvement and growth in them, especially those recovering from something.
Sandy and Lee are constantly on the lookout new opportunities and ways to enhance experience,
they genuinely listen to the seniors, but they extend their services to any who will benefit from
them like myself."

To Whom It May Concern
Re: The Senior Exercise Classes

"I am a regular attendant of the Tuesday and Thursday morning (9.15) classes at the Senior Hub. These classes ensure that my body is staying active and as supple as possible. Although I thought I was reasonably fit from all the gardening that I do I found that these classes were exercising a wider range of muscles than I had been using.

Lee ensures that she covers exercises to cover a wide range of muscle groups as well as introducing balance exercises. These classes are also ensuring that we use our minds as she is often introducing new routines, which ensure we have to stay focussed concentrating on new information and adapting to the different exercises.

The success of these classes is very obvious by the amount of people who turn up. I have been going since they began and have seen these classes increase considerably. And most of us would be coming twice a week. This high turnout is really due to the leadership of our instructor Lee. I can’t speak highly enough of her. She is very enthusiastic as well as very sensitive and caring. She makes everyone feel welcome and is always stressing that you just do it to the level that suits your own body. This means that newcomers do not feel intimidated and it encourages them to keep coming back - and lo and behold, they find they are able to keep up and feel confident in their ability to move.

There is always a lovely atmosphere and her helpers definitely support her with the running of the classes. These classes have also been great for their social aspect. Great to be out meeting new people and developing new friendships. As we know, this aspect of life is so important with our age group, to help keep the dreaded dementia from setting in!

I find that because I am keeping active with these two classes a week that it then motivates me to get out and walk to the classes, weather permitting, and to do other activities both physical and mental. It also makes me more aware of other things happening within Feilding / Manawatu. I feel extremely fortunate that we have these classes and am always raving about them to outsiders. I especially notice how much more active we are than a lot of other people who don’t go to them and are finding their bodies seizing up on them. It’s lovely to see such an age range participating as well. "
