Description
Living in a Care Suite gives you the flexibility and control you're used to and that little bit of luxury you deserve. You can relax knowing you won't have to move again if you ever need a higher level of care. Both Rest Home and Hospital level care can be provided in your Care Suite.

All Care Suites have a kitchenette with fridge and microwave perfect for making a cuppa when friends and family visit, as well as a full ensuite bathroom and heat pump. You own the right to occupy your Care Suite so you can truly make it your own with your favourite furniture and treasured pieces.

Great care is what we do, and we’ve got the accolades to prove it. You can be sure you’re in good hands. Oceania has won the Supreme Care Award from the NZ Aged Care Association 3 years in a row. When it comes to your care, you know what you like and don’t like - and we want to know too. Because everyone is different all of our residents get a personalised care plan where from meals to medications, everything that’s important to you is covered. We’ve also got a choice from standard rooms to stunning Care Suites, so no matter your needs or budget, there are plenty of options.

There is Registered Nurse coverage 24 hours per day.

We run an activities programme designed to meet the needs of all our residents. It includes a diverse range of daily group and one to one activities as well as regular events and entertainment.

Monthly themed lunches, A La Carte restaurant evenings and happy hours always prove popular with residents and their families alike.

Regular activities including cooking and exercise classes, arts and craft, Men’s club, housie, crosswords, knitting, gardening, games, quizzes, indoor bowls and church services. In addition, we have visits from local schools and kindergarten children, artists and other community groups as well as bi weekly entertainment by local singers and musicians.

For those who like to venture out, we offer something for everyone, including fishing trips, gallery visits, shopping, outings to parks, cafés and the RSA or simply seat back and enjoy one of our weekly sightseeing tours around the beautiful Hawkes Bay.

Because everyone loves a bit of friendly competition, we take on some of the other homes in the area in bowling matches, quizzes and our version of Commonwealth Games.

Of course, families are a special part of our residents life’s and are always welcome and encouraged to join in. Whether it’s one of our special BBQ lunch outings by the beach, an outing to events or any one of our daily or weekly activities or events.

One on one walks, hand massage, pampering, reminiscing, music, chats, pet therapy are some of the one to one activities we also offer.

With the local village being only 3 blocks away; local amenities, the library, shops, banks and the post office are all close by.

The Ministry of Health conducts regular audits of Residential Care Facilities. They can be found HERE.

NOTE: The Retirement Villages Act 2003 (The Act) is designed to provide improved protection for people who ‘buy’ into a retirement village. If you intend to ‘purchase’ you must get independent legal advice before signing your occupation right agreement as required under The Act. Some Retirement Village type facilities are not required to register under The Act so different legal requirements apply. Please make sure you investigate fully.

In some villages there may be some Retirement Village units that have multiple uses e.g. a Serviced Apartment may also be used as a Residential Care Suite. The same unit may therefore show in several places on Eldernet. The DHB Shared Services website provides additional information about this service.
