Visitors as usual (but not if you're unwell or recently returned from overseas)
Care at Metlifecare is deeply personal and always personalised. We support every resident to live a fulfilling life in a safe and welcoming setting that feels like home where you can continue doing the things you love. We take time to get to know you, so we can better support and care for you.

At The Poynton, you’ll mix with a community of like-minded residents, enjoying the finest facilities in an elegant yet secure setting right next door to North Shore Hospital. Nearby, Takapuna’s vibrant restaurant and shopping scene gives you the cosmopolitan refinement of a big city, set against stunning Takapuna Beach.

Our beautifully designed Care suites offering Rest Home and Hospital levels of care are available under an Occupational Right Agreement (ORA). Care suites offers a private ensuite, kitchenette with bar fridge and tea making facilities, giving you the freedom to make your cup of tea, just the way you like it.

Your friends and family will always be welcome to spend time with you, and they can join in for meals and celebrations as well as pop in for a cup of tea and chat.

The need for care can be unpredictable, making it hard to always guarantee availability, but we encourage you to get in touch - we are here to listen and here to help. People come first, always. That’s our Care Promise.

We invite you to contact us to find out if Care Suites are the right choice for you.

Welcome home.

ORA Applies Yes. An ORA (Occupation Right Agreement) means you have to 'pay' a capital amount to live here. It's a retirement village type of purchase.

The Ministry of Health conducts regular audits of Residential Care Facilities. They can be found HERE.

NOTE: The Retirement Villages Act 2003 (The Act) is designed to provide improved protection for people who ‘buy’ into a retirement village. If you intend to ‘purchase’ you must get independent legal advice before signing your occupation right agreement as required under The Act. Some Retirement Village type facilities are not required to register under The Act so different legal requirements apply. Please make sure you investigate fully.

In some villages there may be some Retirement Village units that have multiple uses e.g. a Serviced Apartment may also be used as a Residential Care Suite. The same unit may therefore show in several places on Eldernet.
