Seaview Retirement Park is a Rest Home with fantastic views over Parua Bay and the Whangarei Harbour. The 34 bed home, set in native bush and over an acre of gardens, is only 15 minutes drive from Whangarei's CBD.

Seaview has the feeling of a home, with all the warmth, caring, and family atmosphere you expect from the place you call home.
Not only do residents have input into making Seaview part of their life, their family and friends are also encouraged to visit and interact with their loved ones as if they are at home; whether they partake of the fine food available or walk in the gardens, or just sit at one of the many vantage points and enjoy the view. Special Features
Fantastic views, lovely gardens. Regular outings to varied and interesting venues. Diversional therapy four days per week including bowls, bingo, creative pursuits, etc. Family feel with extra caring staff and family involvement.
The great harbour views and native bush surrounds make Seaview a special place for our residents to live. The atmosphere at Seaview is relaxed, informal and happy. The families and friends of our residents are always welcome to visit, at any time of the day.

Our schedule of activities include regular outings, visits from entertainers and community groups, a range of indoor sports and games, exercise programmes, and special activities designed to provide a physically and mentally stimulating environment.

Interests And Activities

All the activities are voluntary and designed to help people relax and enjoy a community spirit whether they are joining in or watching from the side.

We have a dedicated "Trip Co-ordinator" and the residents enjoy going out on regular trips in our van to local destinations. We have regular shopping days in town as well as regular excursions to specific events and concerts in the Whangarei area.

As we live in a wonderful, beach environment we spend time in the summer down on the beach having BBQs next to the incoming tide.

Many of our residents have lived in this area all their lives and enjoy having visits from nearby friends and family. We actively encourage a close, family environment.

We have a very motivated Activities Co-ordinator who designs and runs the Activity Programmes, both general and individualised for specific residents.

Details re Meals A wonderful variety of home cooked meals are served daily. Residents personal preferences are met and catered for as much as possible. The smell of home baking pervades every area of the home and adds to the great atmosphere.
Staffing Details The Seaview staff are a very dedicated and compassionate group and work really hard to provide a special, homely environment for the residents. Manager is Bob Knightly R.N. who has history in working in various sectors of the health industry. Heather Montgomery is charge nurse, and has a huge wealth of knowledge and experience, this along with her careing attitude, makes for a great team atmosphere. There are several on the staff along with 35 other caregivers, many of whom have National Certificates in Care of the Elderly. There is a Registered Nurse on call at all times.
Associated Complexes Seaview is owned by the nationwide "Radius Residential Care Group" who also manage Potter Home and Hospital in Bank Street, Whangarei; Oakhaven Hospital in Kamo Road, Whangarei and Lester Heights Hospital in Fourth Avenue, Whangarei.
Fees Details/Fees Do Not Include Private paying residents pay for all Doctors and Pharmacy accounts, also Incontinence and wound care products.
