Special Features
Peacehaven Rest Home is a 23 bed licenced care facility with a 22 bed hospital facility attached We offer the best of healthcare, hospitality, homely atmosphere family involvement.
We know that we can assess your needs and support you to develop your fullest potential.

We are only a short walk from the shops. We are semisecure but have keypads for independent residents.

We really care about our residents and enjoy meeting their needs and wants.

Special activities arranged including visits to the hydrotherapy pool.

Interests & Activities

Our activity programme encourages close family and volunteer involvement, We encourage children to visit (we have a toybox and an opportunity for entertainment of the residents at concerts).

We enjoy BBQs and picnics in our garden room.

Residents have access to services such as Age Concern, Alzheimers Society, Arthritis Society, Blind Foundation,Parkinson's Society and Stroke Group. RSA social workers visit and we have a close link with Probus.

Our Diversional Therapy Team plays Music and does activites such as Cards, care of the Garden, Housie, Art and Craft, Bowls, Flower Arranging, Quizzes, Newspaper and other Reading and Shopping. They encourage folks to read using Big print books or tapes.


We have as Exercise Programme led by our cheerful physiotherapist Dean. Individual programmes are also encourged.

Religious Services are led by local Christian Parishes including Roman Catholic, Presbyterian, Anglican and Baptist.
Residents of other faiths are also welcome.

We visit the hydrotherapy pool every Friday fortnight for fun and activities.

Our Chef caters for individual requirements and serves great NZ food, home cooked and yummy).

We have electronic chairs to assist residents to remain as independent as possible.

We have a holistic approach to Activities and aim to stimulate residents Physically, Socially, Intellectually and Spiritually. We enable residents to pursue their individual Hobbies and Interests such as Stroke Club, Church or club.
