Registered Nurse 80 Yes Our Registered Nurse Graeme and Manager Margaret (who has an RN background) are available 24 hours / 7 days a week on call. Graeme has a post graduate orthopaedic qualification and a post graduate diploma in Health & Social Science Education.
Healthcare Assistants/Caregivers Yes Our care assistants have either completed or are undertaking aged care education modules. We have one care assistant with ambulance training. All care assistants have first aid training.
Physiotherapist Negotiable A Physiotherapst can be contacted when necessary
Occupational Therapist Negotiable Can be sourced via Tauranga Hospital
Own Social Worker No Social workers accessed through Tauranga Hospital
Diversional Therapist Negotiable We have access to a Diversional Therapist if required.
Activities Co-ordinator 20 Yes We have three activity coordinators who work Monday - Friday. They arrange all activity programmes including outings, shopping, entertainers etc.
Hairdresser Yes Visits every Thursday. No appointments are necessary. Reasonable prices.
Podiatrist Yes Visits the rest home regularly
Dietitian Negotiable A Registered dietician has approved our menus and can be accessed whenever necessary.
Accredited Visitors Yes Several services can be accessed when necessary. We have regular visits to the home from various church denominations.
Kaumatua Yes We have a staff member who has access to a Kaumatua.
Chaplain/Spiritual Advisor Yes We have two church services monthly and other church groups visiting. Communion monthly.

Wound Care Yes Via our Registered Nurse. All care assistants have training in basic wound management via external specialists.
Diabetic Care Yes Local Doctors Diabetic Clinic provides back up and regular diabetic checks. All our staff are trained in diabetic care.
Continence Advisor Yes We work in conjunction with the incontinence advisor from Tauranga Hospital. Continence advice and support in house is provided by product specialists from PHL Medical.

Lounges/seating areas Yes We have 2 lounges. One where most of the activities take place and another lounge where residents can have quiet time or visitors. We also have three smaller seating areas which our residents enjoy.
Outings Yes We have regular outings Monday to Friday. A number of residents attend external groups in the community. We have a monthly lunch outing to the Mt RSA or other restaraunt.
Rural Setting Yes We are set off the road in a quite urban setting, close to beaches and walkways.
Smoking Permitted Yes We have a No Smoking Policy within all buildings. There is an outside smoking area for residents.
Semi-Secure Yes We only have one entranceway and can operate a pendant system for a 'mild' wanderer

We have a varied activity programme including; Bingo, board games, cards, care and craft, church services, concerts, internal festivals, external entertainers, exercises, indoor games, quizzes, bowls, jigsaws, nail care, newspapers, piano and organ, gardening, outings, shopping, videos, lunch time happy hour, petanque, shopping, sing-a-longs, videos, big print books,library visits, picnic and barbeque facilities, Citizens Club outings, raffles.

Access to support from Age Concern Alzeimer's Society, Arthritis society, Blind Foundation, Pastoral care,Parkinson's Society,Grey Power,external Advocate.
