Melrose Lifestyle Care & Village offers rest home care, as well as independent retirement village living, in a facility set amongst generous sized grounds.

At rest home care level Melrose has the capacity to look after 39 people.

The rest home at Melrose offers care in a warm and homely environment.

There is registered nurse cover 24 hours a day.

Mini-bus Trips:

We visit RSAs and attend picnics, outings,games at other resthomes, doctors appointments, concerts and church services.

Setting/Outlook:

We have lovely views of the harbour and the Mount. Our residents can have breakfast in bed if they wish to do so.

We have large gardens, and a bible garden that can be accessed and used by residents.

Pets:

We have one cat (in Maplewood) and visitors visit us with their dogs and also have a big tropical fish tank in the reception area. We arrange visits from local pet shops to visit us with some animals, and arrange visits to the animal farm.

Children's Visits:

Children are encouraged to visit and we also invite them to provide concerts and sing-songs for the residents.

E-mail and Faxes:

The administration offices have access to e-mail and a fax machine and can use it on behalf of the residents.

Guest Speakers:

We invite external speakers to address the residents on topics of interest.

Food/Meals:

Because we have our own kitchen on site, we can cater for all residents needs including vegetarians and special medical dietry requirements.

Access to Community Organisations and Associations:

Advocate, Age Concern, Alzheimer's Society,Arthritis Society etc are consulted on an as-needed basis.

Details re Meals Access to diatition who prepares menus for facility. Meals prepared on site in own kitchen and delivered to different areas. Individual food preferences are respected. Cater for different medical requirements. "Meals on wheels" available to villas on request. Cater for special functions eg. Christmas, 100th birthdays etc.are catered for.
Staffing Details Registered Nurse available 24 hour per day. Staffing levels according to legal requirements.
