Registered Nurse 400+ Yes Registered Nurses work on every shift and are responsibile for supervising the caregivers. Registered Nurses work closely with the four Doctors contracted to provide 24 hour, 7 days a week medical cover for the facility.
Enrolled Nurse Yes An Enrolled Nurse who is a well trained Continence Nurse is sresponsible for assessing continence in the Hospital and Rest Home. Enrolled Nurses work in the Rest Home under the supervision of the Rest Home Manager.
Healthcare Assistants/Caregivers Yes Caregivers work under the supervision of Registered Nurses.
Physiotherapist Yes Physiotherapy services are available Monday to Friday in the modern, well equiped department.
Occupational Therapist 38 Yes The Occupational Therapist assesses all patients on admission and is part of the care planning process. Responsible for the activities programme which is carried out by Activities assistants.
Own Social Worker 35 Yes The Social Worker (Jenny Moore)is available Monday to Friday She is responsible for maintaining the waiting lists and arrangeing admissions. She will show people around the facility by appointment.
Activities Co-ordinator Yes There is a team of activities assistants who work under the guidance of the Occupational Therapist. The Activities Team Leader is responsible for the day to day running of the Day Care Department.
Hairdresser 30 Yes A modern contempory salon openTuesday to Friday
Podiatrist Yes Visits 6 weekly or as required.
Dietitian Yes The kitchen is managed by Alliance Caterers. Their Dietitian assesses all patients on special diets and provides ongoing advice. All menus are submitted to her for comment.
Accredited Visitors Yes Volunteers work under the supervision of a Volunteer Co ordinator. They take bus trips, arrange flowers and help with Bingo, morning teas, games and Church Services etc.
Kaumatua Yes We liaise closely with the Umupuia Marae.
Chaplain/Spiritual Advisor 15 Yes We have a Chaplain on staff for 15 hours a week. She is available on call outside those times. Church Services are held every two weeks with visiting Clergy. .
Other Personnel Yes The Property Services Manager and his team, as well as the clerical staff are well known by residents.
