Delivering Quality Care - Striving for Excellence Bernadette Lifecare is fully Certified. First opened in 1986 as a Rest Home in 1996 opened the first aged care hospital in Mt Maunganui. In 2010 added our Matakana hospital of 23 large superior hospital rooms, all including ensuites. Located at Bayfair, Mt Maunganui over the last 25 years has established a reputation as one of the best aged care facilities in the Bay of Plenty. Today Bernadette Lifecare has 28 Rest home rooms and 58 Hospital rooms. We are proud of the traditions of Bernadette Lifecare and we look forward to the opportunity to meet the needs of individual residents and their families for many years to come. | Bernadette Lifecare operates an Aged Care Hospital and Rest RestHome /nursing home. Founded on the site that was originally a church, Bernadette Lifecare is privately owned and is not linked to any religion. It is favourably located in Bayfair to serve the Tauranga, Mt Maunganui, Papamoa region.
The name Bernadette was retained when the property was purchased in the mid 1980's and the rest home established. It has grown to its current size of 28 rest home and with the new wing added in 2010 there are 58 hospital beds. The philosophy of the owner and principal, is to offer the best possible quality of nursing care and service in a safe environment and to provide pleasant working conditions for the staff. |

| Details re Meals | Our menu is regularly reviewed by an advising Dietitian. All meals are prepared in our own kitchen. A continental style breakfast is served from 7.30am Lunch is served at 12.30pm. This is the main meal of the day. Special diets and likes and dislikes are catered for. There are 2 choices of meals at tea time. Soup, fruit and cheese is also served. Biscuits and cake are available at morning tea and afternoon tea. Caregiver will provide additional snacks as required. | |
