Podiatrist Yes All clients are assessed for their podiatry requirements by Wendy Salmon, podiatrist. She determines what is safe for treatment by nurses and what requires her specialist treatment. Typical those with diabetes requires special treatment
Dietitian Yes Medirest Compass Group are contracted to provide kitchen and dietary services
Kaumatua Yes Huria Kaumatua Care provide the support of Kaumatua for the blessing of rooms and meeting the needs of our Maori clients. They also take inservice seminars for our staff on Maori protocol and provide policy advice

Special Features
Althorp has been designed to accommodate a philosophy of treating "Like with Like" That is we group people according to their having similar needs. The maximum size of each of the four homes is fifteen people and their attending staff.
Light plays a vital role to the health of all people and internal planted atriums ensure extra light pours in to Althorp for the health of both staff and clients

Details re Meals Kitchen and dietary services are contracted out to Medirest Compass Group. the main meal is served at midday. Meal times are 8 am, 12noon and 5 pm. clients are given a daily menu and their dietary preferences are respected and accommodated.
Staffing Details We have over 100 staff caring for 90 clients. There are registered nurses on duty 24 hours a day 7 days a week. During business hours we have approx 6 registered nurses working at Althorp
Associated Complexes We are proud to be associated with Althorp Retirement Village and will work synergistically in its development. Althorp is not part of a group and is a privately owned company owned by nurses putting their personal experience and observations into practice
Fees Details/Fees Do Not Include Hair cuts, personal items, like clothing, toiletries and treats. Other services such as hydrotherapy, massage and podiatry are provided onsite on request
