About Summerset by the Dunes (Papamoa Beach)
Summerset by the Dunes offers a range of modern living options, including two and three-bedroom villas and cottages, one-bedroom serviced apartments, and care rooms in our care centre. We also have one-bedroom apartments in our memory care centre, specially designed for those living with dementia.
All villas and cottages are single-storey homes with private outdoor living. Serviced apartments come with a spacious double bedroom, ensuite, and separate living area. Care rooms are available in standard, premium or deluxe layouts.
There is a variety of facilities for residents to enjoy, including a library, cafe, residents’ bar, indoor swimming and spa pool, exercise room, hair salon and beauty clinic, and all-purpose bowling green. Residents also have access to a village van for group outings, and our on-site activities coordinator organises the social calendar.

Mythbusting - Retirement Villages are a rip-off
Why it’s considered a worthwhile investment.
NOTE: The Retirement Villages Act 2003 (The Act) is designed to provide improved protection for people who 'buy' into a retirement village. If you intend to 'purchase' you must get independent legal advice before signing your occupation right agreement as required under The Act. Some Retirement Village type facilities are not required to register under The Act so different legal requirements apply. Please make sure you investigate fully.
In some villages there may be some Retirement Village units that have multiple uses e.g. a Serviced Apartment may also be used as a Residential Care Suite. The same unit may therefore show in several places on Eldernet.
