About Ranburn - Village
Located in the Northland coastal community of Waipū, Alden Ranburn Village enjoys a rural lifestyle while still being close to the town’s amenities, including shops, supermarkets, cafes, and local beaches. We’re also just forty minutes from Whangarei.
Our village comprises one, two, and three-bedroom villas with spacious grounds and attractive gardens. Our homely villas are designed for independent living and taking advantage of the Northland sun.
We run a stimulating activities programme tailored to residents’ needs and interests. There’s also a well-stocked library, regular happy hours, and several communal lounge areas, ideal for watching television or catching up with friends. In addition to hairdressing services, residents can book podiatrist and physiotherapist appointments, and our meals are dietician-approved.
At some point in our lives, we may require more assistance in daily life. Our wealth of experience in other stages of care means our team can advise you on your options and explain how it all works. We are here to help and assure you through the stages.

Mythbusting - Retirement Villages are a rip-off
Why it’s considered a worthwhile investment.
NOTE: The Retirement Villages Act 2003 (The Act) is designed to provide improved protection for people who 'buy' into a retirement village. If you intend to 'purchase' you must get independent legal advice before signing your occupation right agreement as required under The Act. Some Retirement Village type facilities are not required to register under The Act so different legal requirements apply. Please make sure you investigate fully.
In some villages there may be some Retirement Village units that have multiple uses e.g. a Serviced Apartment may also be used as a Residential Care Suite. The same unit may therefore show in several places on Eldernet.
