About Kerikeri Retirement Village
For over 40 years, Kerikeri Retirement Village has been providing retirees with a welcoming, independent lifestyle in the heart of the Bay of Islands. Ideally located just a short stroll from central Kerikeri, residents enjoy easy access to supermarkets, cafés, restaurants, medical services, shops, and local amenities, making everyday living both convenient and enjoyable.
We offer a variety of living options to suit different lifestyles and budgets, including contemporary one and two-bedroom apartments, spacious one, two and three-bedroom cottages, and affordable studio apartments. Each home is designed to support independent living while providing the reassurance of being part of an established and caring community.
Life at Kerikeri Retirement Village is all about freedom and peace of mind. Enjoy a lock-up-and-leave lifestyle with gardens and exterior maintenance taken care of, giving you more time to travel, pursue hobbies, spend time with family and friends, or simply enjoy retirement.
Our modern 127 Apartments offer stylish, low-maintenance living with a range of layouts and designs to choose from. Ready to move into and thoughtfully designed, they provide comfort, convenience, and contemporary living in a vibrant village setting.
For those seeking more space, our generously proportioned cottages combine comfort and practicality. Refurbished before sale, they feature modern kitchens and bathrooms, tasteful neutral décor, internal-access garaging, off-street parking, and private outdoor areas. Many residents enjoy maintaining a small vegetable garden, cultivating flowers, or simply relaxing in their own sunny outdoor retreat.
At the heart of village life is our Community Centre, a welcoming hub where residents can connect, socialise, and enjoy a range of activities. Facilities include a café, bar, theatre, library, and function room, creating opportunities for everything from casual catch-ups and organised events to movie afternoons and community celebrations. This vibrant space helps foster the strong sense of connection and belonging that makes Kerikeri Retirement Village such a special place to call home.
Our studio apartments offer exceptional value for central Kerikeri, featuring modern interiors, well-appointed kitchens, and comfortable living spaces designed for easy everyday living.
Residents also have the reassurance of knowing that aged care services are available on-site, should their needs change over time. Our care facility provides continuity and peace of mind for both residents and their families, while our dedicated Village Support team is available to assist with everyday needs and help residents make the most of village life. This unique combination of independence, support, and care enables residents to enjoy retirement with confidence.
One of the things residents value most is our friendly and inclusive community. There are plenty of opportunities to participate in social activities, clubs, and events, while still enjoying the privacy and independence of your own home. We are also proudly pet-friendly, welcoming approved pets as part of village life.

Mythbusting - Retirement Villages are a rip-off
Why it’s considered a worthwhile investment.
NOTE: The Retirement Villages Act 2003 (The Act) is designed to provide improved protection for people who 'buy' into a retirement village. If you intend to 'purchase' you must get independent legal advice before signing your occupation right agreement as required under The Act. Some Retirement Village type facilities are not required to register under The Act so different legal requirements apply. Please make sure you investigate fully.
In some villages there may be some Retirement Village units that have multiple uses e.g. a Serviced Apartment may also be used as a Residential Care Suite. The same unit may therefore show in several places on Eldernet.
