Special features
Independent residents have the option to download the myRyman resident app. It will help you manage your calendar of village activities and events and keep up to date with important notices. It's also simple to attend virtual events directly from the app.
Ryman also offers Triple A (Ageless, Active, Aware), a complimentary exercise programme available to all Ryman residents. It’s designed specifically for older people, is ACC approved and accredited, and the aim is to enhance the quality of your life and overall wellbeing. We have classes and exercises to suit all levels of fitness, so you can choose what’s right for you.
Interests & activities
Residents can join in the many activities on offer, we have activity coordinators who plan and manage a wide variety of entertainment and activities so there is something for everyone to enjoy. It may be going on a group bus trip, heading off to visit an exhibition, joining one of the many interest groups, and Happy Hour is always a resident favourite.

Mythbusting - Retirement Villages are a rip-off
Why it’s considered a worthwhile investment.
NOTE: The Retirement Villages Act 2003 (The Act) is designed to provide improved protection for people who 'buy' into a retirement village. If you intend to 'purchase' you must get independent legal advice before signing your occupation right agreement as required under The Act. Some Retirement Village type facilities are not required to register under The Act so different legal requirements apply. Please make sure you investigate fully.
In some villages there may be some Retirement Village units that have multiple uses e.g. a Serviced Apartment may also be used as a Residential Care Suite. The same unit may therefore show in several places on Eldernet.
