About Bishop Selwyn
Bishop Selwyn Village has been part of the Spreydon neighbourhood for over 25 years and has built a strong reputation amongst our community. We offer residents the freedom of independent living. Just around the corner from us is our sister village Rose Court with who we enjoy a close connection with, there is a genuine sense of belonging with our communities being well integrated.
Our village offers a mixture of affordable independent one and two bedroom villas and studios. Villas enjoy bright open plan living, dining area, spacious bedrooms with a modern bathroom and kitchen. These all have the ability to choose a support service if and when you may require assistance.
We are proud of our comprehensive activities programme which caters for our range of residents with weekly outings and shopping trips organised. You are also welcome to join in other entertainment provided in the rest home.
Residents, family and friends are encouraged to enjoy our tranquil garden setting, where we have our bird aviary and many restful areas to use.

Mythbusting - Retirement Villages are a rip-off
Why it’s considered a worthwhile investment.
NOTE: The Retirement Villages Act 2003 (The Act) is designed to provide improved protection for people who 'buy' into a retirement village. If you intend to 'purchase' you must get independent legal advice before signing your occupation right agreement as required under The Act. Some Retirement Village type facilities are not required to register under The Act so different legal requirements apply. Please make sure you investigate fully.
In some villages there may be some Retirement Village units that have multiple uses e.g. a Serviced Apartment may also be used as a Residential Care Suite. The same unit may therefore show in several places on Eldernet.
