VILLA OPTIONS

Bethsaida Retirement village offers 'own your own' Villas on a Lease to Occupy basis, and is the only complex in Blenheim offering you the choice of renting a Villa. We have one and two bedroom Villas within both options of 'owning' or 'renting'. These units are architecturally designed for the elderly and are supplied with electric range, carpets, drapes, and Heat Pumps. Residents of rental units enjoy the same benefits as those who finance their own units under our Lease to Occupy agreement. We do have a waiting list for all categories, but we welcome inquiries. We are not able to determine when Villas will become available due to the nature of our industry. A limited number of carports are available incurring a small weekly rental. A small maintenance fee is charged to Villa owners (those on Lease to Occupy basis) which covers the cost of a daily contact by a staff member from the Rest Home, ground maintenance, insurance and a proportion of rates.

Regular and consistent communication is maintained at all times through the monthly schedule of activities and outings. We endeavour to keep all residents informed and our staff are available to advise and assist wherever possible.

At Bethsaida Retirement Village, we pride ourselves in providing a caring, friendly atmosphere while at the same time providing stimulation and security for the residents.

OF NOTE
We believe it is in the interests of all residents entering our Retirement Village to ensure they have a current Will, have arranged an Enduring Power of Attorney and make their own arrangements for any financial or business assistance.
It is imperative to have adequate insurance cover for personal effects, due to recent earthquakes in the south island and the consequences.

HISTORY

In 1973 a group of prominent Blenheim citizens set up the Bethsaida Trust the purpose of which was to establish a Home for the care of the frail and dependent elderly, of either sex, without discrimination as to religion, race or political belief. This idea has expanded into the complex known as the BETHSAIDA RETIREMENT VILLAGE and covers 2 hectares of landscaped park-like land close to shopping centre at nearby Redwoodtown and within close proximity of various Churches. The main commercial centre of Blenheim is approximately 1.5Kms drive from the village.

ACTIVITIES AND OUTINGS
We encourage Villa residents to participate in any arranged activity or outing. Typical activities include gentle exercise sessions, 'Housie' afternoons, Residents meetings, church services of all denominations. Outings may be arranged to visit local Árt Galleries, visiting shows, Operatic or Repertory productions, or reciprocal visits to other Rest Home/Retirement Villages.
We have a dedicated Diversional Therapist who co-ordinates the social calendar to the Retirement Villagers.
