About Avonlea Rest Home and Hospital

Avonlea Villas is a brand new, small boutique village nestled into the side of Taumarunui, with picturesque rural views. Part of the Ruapehu District, Taumarunui has been loved by generations of families for its beautiful environment and caring community. Within easy reach of Taupo, Whanganui National Park and Tongariro National Park, Avonlea offers residents an affordable lifestyle to enjoy.

The lovely two-bedroom villas at Avonlea have been designed with comfort and modern convenience in mind. The open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area is spacious, warm and commands a stunning view of the countryside with plenty of room to enjoy when family and friends are over for a visit.

At Avonlea, not only can you enjoy the full independence these villas offer, should your needs change over time we can provide a range of care options within the Avonlea Rest Home and Hospital located right next door. When it comes time to sell, as a Charitable Trust, we want you to enjoy a fairer and more equitable outcome. This means that you can receive 50% of the capital gain when the value appreciates, giving you more money to do what you need to do.

We are a small, caring and supportive community and while there are no communal facilities in the village, Avonlea will happily organise membership at our cost to four local amenities of your choice*, such as our golf club and heated pools. We can also connect you to local activity groups you may be interested in. A van is available for outings.

And if you don’t feel like cooking, or want some help in your home, meals and assistance can be arranged for a very reasonable price.

It’s your lifestyle – your choice.

At Avonlea Villas, living in a caring community has never been easier.

*Refer to Avonlea at the time of Application for a list of options available. Terms and Conditions apply.
