Comfort, connection, and care—your transition to residential living starts with trust. Nestled in central Ōrākei, Eastcliffe offers boutique hospital and rest home care with excellent staff ratios, experienced team members, and a calm, inclusive atmosphere where whānau are genuinely part of the journey.
We know moving to residential care is a big step, so we create a welcoming space where you feel valued, involved, and at home. Each resident enjoys a spacious private room with an en-suite bathroom, upgraded interiors, and room to personalise with the things that matter most.
Eastcliffe is conveniently located near Parnell, Remuera, St Heliers, Kohimarama, Mission Bay, and the CBD—helping residents stay in their trusted neighbourhoods and making it easier for families to stay close and connected.
Life here is rich with social engagement, thoughtfully woven into daily routines. Our team leads a lively programme that includes bus outings, movies, celebrations, physiotherapy, and music and pet therapy—plus quiet moments and spontaneous connections that make each day meaningful. Engagement is always shaped by residents’ preferences and supported by a familiar rhythm.
Our café isn’t just a place to grab a drink—it’s a warm, welcoming space where residents and whānau can relax together, catch up, and enjoy a proper coffee or something to eat. Whānau are welcome to join in for meals, activities, and celebrations.
Food at Eastcliffe is prepared daily by our in-house chefs using high-quality, seasonal ingredients. We cater to a wide range of dietary needs, including softer meals for residents with difficulty eating, and we work hard to make every plate nourishing and enjoyable.
Should your needs change, our onsite hospital provides complex and palliative care in a private, supportive setting—delivered with continuity, clinical expertise, and compassion.
All rooms are premium (18sqm, en-suite), and guided by DHB rates. A NASC (Needs Assessment and Service Coordination) is required to access residential care, and you may be eligible for a subsidy—please speak with Work and Income (WINZ) for support.
At Eastcliffe, every resident is known, supported, and welcomed—not just cared for, but treated with genuine dignity and warmth.

Chaplain/Spiritual Advisor | Yes | We actively support our residents' spiritual wellbeing as part of our holistic approach to care. Respite | Yes | Short-stay care with honest expectations. Eastcliffe offers respite and palliative stays for a minimum of seven days, either privately or, where eligible, through subsidy. While placements can’t be pre-booked, we’re always happy to discuss availability. Although we love providing this kind of support, shorter stays simply don’t allow for the tailored onboarding and relationship-building we offer to long-term residents. As such, care during these visits is more generalised, but always safe, respectful, and professional. When space allows, we work closely with hospice teams to ensure care is aligned and compassionate. Our goal is to provide comfort and calm—even in brief moments—for residents and whānau alike. |
