Registered Nurse 24/7 Yes The nurse manager is a Registered Nurse who is involved in the day to day care of residents and staff training. There is a registered nurse available on call 24/7 for emergencies
Healthcare Assistants/Caregivers Yes We have a mix of very experienced carers and those relatively new but with enthusiasm to learn. All are committed to making residents feel at home as much as possible.

Diversional Therapist Yes We have an Activities coordinator covering 5 shifts a week. Residents are encouraged to participate in community and social events whenever possible. The Activities coordinator will facilitate this.

Oxygen Management Yes We can provide services to residents on Oxygen. The facility is suitable for residents on Oxygen therapy. Should a resident require oxygen on a permanent bases they need to supply their own machine.
End of Life/Palliative Care Yes We provide end of life care. RN and carers have attended hospice training and we consult with Palliative nurses and specialists.
Wound Care Yes The Registered Nurses are available to provide wound care. GP, District nurse input is available should the need arise.

Surgical Followup Yes Residents' carers are encouraged to take residents to any follow up appointment. If the carer is not available we will endeavour to arrange transport (may be extra cost incurred) on their behalf.
Psychiatric Care No Psychiatric advice and support can be obtained from the local SCDHB psychiatric services.
Clinical Management Yes The nurse Manager is a Registered nurse with many years experience in the care of the elderly. She holds a honours degree in Health Sciences, along with Management, Mentoring and teaching qualifications.

Moving to the Geraldine Retirement Village is just like moving home. We are a unique small facility which enables our Residents to enjoy one on one contact with all staff. The Geraldine Retirement Village is family orientated and the quality of care is reflected in our Residents' happiness.
We have our own bus to take the Residents out and about in the community and surrounding area

Staffing qualifications and details Staffing levels are consistant with some staff having been here since we opened. We have two Registered Nurses and all our Caregivers are fully trained.
Details about meals All meals are cooked on the premises with lots and lots of home baking.
