Visitors as usual (but not if you're unwell or recently returned from overseas)
Bishop Selwyn Village has been part of the Spreydon neighbourhood for over 25 years and has built a strong reputation amongst our community. We offer residents the best of both worlds, the freedom of independent living with an adjoining rest home and hospital complex onsite for added peace of mind. Just around the corner from us is our sister village Rose Court with who we enjoy a close connection with, there is a genuine sense of belonging with our communities being well integrated.

Our village offers a mixture of independent one and two bedroom villas and studios. Villas enjoy bright open plan living, dining area, spacious bedrooms with a modern bathroom and kitchen. These all have the ability to choose a support service if and when you may require assistance.

We are proud of our comprehensive activities programme which caters for our range of residents with weekly outings and shopping trips organised. You are also welcome to join in other entertainment provided in the rest home.

Residents, family and friends are encouraged to enjoy our tranquil garden setting with many restful areas to use. Our bird aviary attracts a lot of attention and is enjoyed by all.

"The residents and staff are welcoming and friendly. I feel respected and valued as a person. My villa is comfortable and convenient just like my previous house. The programme of activities is varied and fun (lovely morning and afternoon teas). I love my garden which by magic is tended to; bright and colourful and I am allowed my companion cat".

"I find life at Bishop Selwyn very relaxed, and I want for nothing. The service is top notch and I have no complaints. There are so many outings, it's very social an there is great interaction.

NOTE: The Retirement Villages Act 2003 (The Act) is designed to provide improved protection for people who ‘buy’ into a retirement village. If you intend to ‘purchase’ you must get independent legal advice before signing your occupation right agreement as required under The Act. Some Retirement Village type facilities are not required to register under The Act so different legal requirements apply. Please make sure you investigate fully.

In some villages there may be some Retirement Village units that have multiple uses e.g. a Serviced Apartment may also be used as a Residential Care Suite. The same unit may therefore show in several places on Eldernet.
