Welcome to Thorrington Village and Archer!
Thank you for considering our Archer family, and one of our boutique villages and homes, as a place you may like to come and reside at.
‘living life…loving life’ is our goal. We want residents to come to Archer and ‘live and love life’. Engage, enjoy and be enriched from living at Archer.
We offer three sites that between them encompass, independent-living lifestyle villages, assisted-living serviced studios, day-support programmes, rest home level nursing support, and memory support care (dementia).
Along with this we offer our ‘Archer Tours’ to our Archer residents and local community friends. These are day trips and an annual ‘family holiday’ to somewhere in NZ. Then there is our partnership with the Golden Oldies Missions and their annual trip to Fiji, which reflects our special character of the Christian faith at Archer.
"My experience of moving into Thorrington Retirement Village has been very positive. The staff and residents were all very welcoming. I feel part of a vibrant community.Thorrington is in a very picturesque part of Christchurch with great views of the hills. Walks around the river are within easy reach. The grounds here are a picture and our hidden gem is the woodland area at the rear of the property - wonderfully theraputic for a morning stroll to hear the birdsong or to enjoy sitting under the superb trees with a wine on a warm summer evening. I feel liberated and happy ready to enjoy Archers Living Life Loving Life"

NOTE: The Retirement Villages Act 2003 (The Act) is designed to provide improved protection for people who ‘buy’ into a retirement village. If you intend to ‘purchase’ you must get independent legal advice before signing your occupation right agreement as required under The Act. Some Retirement Village type facilities are not required to register under The Act so different legal requirements apply. Please make sure you investigate fully.

In some villages there may be some Retirement Village units that have multiple uses e.g. a Serviced Apartment may also be used as a Residential Care Suite. The same unit may therefore show in several places on Eldernet.
