Summerset in the River City is situated in a quiet spot and is an easy stroll away from the tranquil and historic Wanganui River.  The village's beautiful setting has been recognized by a civic garden award. The village has a vibrant community and offers easy access to central Wanganui with a bus-stop at the front gate.

The village centre is the heart of Summerset in the River City and is home to a range of wonderful facilities including the Divine Café, library, resident lounges, social spaces, and a hair salon.

One of the benefits of living in a Summerset village is knowing that should your needs change, a range of care options are available. Our modern care centre offers rest home and hospital-level care within the village.

Our village offers a range of homes to choose from so contact Sales Manager, Brent Davis, to find out what homes we currently have available or request a free information pack by clicking on the button at the top of the screen.

Testimonials
Testimonials
"I find the Summerset Care apartment very comfortable. It is just like a home away from home. All your daily needs are there and you have security day and night. I find that a blessing. I enjoy the outings in the van. The trip to Cross Hills Rhododendron Gardens a little while ago was wonderful." Maria Limpus - Serviced Apartment resident.

NOTE: The Retirement Villages Act 2003 (The Act) is designed to provide improved protection for people who ‘buy’ into a retirement village. If you intend to ‘purchase’ you must get independent legal advice before signing your occupation right agreement as required under The Act. Some Retirement Village type facilities are not required to register under The Act so different legal requirements apply. Please make sure you investigate fully.

In some villages there may be some Retirement Village units that have multiple uses e.g. a Serviced Apartment may also be used as a Residential Care Suite. The same unit may therefore show in several places on Eldernet.
