From the friendly community spirit, right through to the plentiful gardens, purpose built villas and friendly staff, Brightwater Village by Enliven has everything you need to enjoy an independent and relaxed retirement.

Brightwater Village is conveniently located on Brightwater Terrace in Palmerston North. Its off-street location is peaceful, quiet and private, yet only a few minutes drive from the city’s square - the heart of the city and its many shops, malls, cafes and restaurants. Comprising of just seven villas, this charming village has been carefully laid out to give residents optimal privacy, sun and space. On sale, each villa is renovated to a high standard.

Enliven’s Brightwater Village provides independent living, but with the security of knowing our friendly team is never far away if you need them. As a resident of Enliven’s Brightwater Village you are, of course, free to do whatever you like, when you like. But you can be confident that our friendly team is on hand to offer all the support and security you need.

At Enliven, we believe retirement is not about slowing down (unless you want to!); it’s about having the time to do the things you enjoy most. Enliven’s Brightwater Retirement Village has been designed to let you make the most of your retirement years.

If there comes a time that you or your spouse needs extra support, as a resident of an Enliven retirement village you’ll be given preferential entry into Enliven’s rest homes. Neighbouring Brightwater Home provides short-term respite and health recovery care, so village residents can rest assured that help is close-by if needed. Plus, the home provides specialist hospital and dementia care making it a perfect option for couples who need different levels of support, but want to remain close-by.

In 2017 New Zealanders voted Enliven New Zealand’s Most Trusted in Aged Care and Retirement Villages. The accolade comes from the independent 2017 Reader’s Digest Most Trusted Brand Survey completed by Roy Morgan Research. Respondents highlighted the not-for-profit vales, genuine care, and the honest and high quality aged care and retirement services and support.
Residents say:

“I love it! – Its bright and airy, the sun streams in, and I feel safe living alone.”

“It suits me down to the ground here, it really does. They are excellent villas and they have everything you need. You couldn’t wish for anything more.”

“There’s no outside work to do! All the lawns are mowed for you, the gardens are done, and the maintenance man does all the things that need doing.”

“The village coordinator comes around and she keeps an eye on everybody to make sure we’re all ok. If you need anything done she will see to it. You know help is close if you ever need it but you also live independently.”

The Brightwater lifestyle
There are many reasons people give for moving to Brightwater Retirement Village, but for most having peace of mind, security, independence and the freedom to truly enjoy the retirement years are at the top of the list.

Support and security
At Brightwater Village you’re free to do what you like, when you like. Yet you can feel confident that we’re here to offer all the support and security you’ll need.

If you go away on holiday, you’ll know we’re looking after your villa, and if you’re at home you can rest assured that staff are on-site at the neighbouring Brightwater Home if you need them.

If you become ill or have an accident, we can arrange short-term respite or health recovery care and services such as meal delivery and laundry. We can also assist you in finding in-home healthcare and support services, such as cleaning. These services are provided on a ‘fee-for-service’ basis, although you may find that some of these services can be subsidised by the MidCentral District Health Board.

If there comes a time that you or your spouse needs extra support, you’ll find residents of Brightwater Village are given preferential entry into Enliven’s rest homes across the lower North Island. This includes the popular Brightwater Home right next door, as well as Palmerston North’s Willard Home and Coombrae Home in Feilding.

Maintenance free
At Brightwater Village you can enjoy the independence of living in your own home, but without the hassle.

Rates, building insurance, ongoing maintenance of your villa, lawns, gardens and security – we’ve got it covered. We can even arrange cleaning and meal delivery services.

Of course, the amount we do is up to you. For example, if you’re a bit of a green thumb or enjoy pottering in the garden, you’re welcome to take care of the area around your villa. Many residents of Brightwater Village have created glorious gardens around their homes.

Independence and freedom
Retirement is not about slowing down; it’s about having the time to do the things you enjoy most. Brightwater Village lets you make the most of this.

Life at Brightwater Village means you have the freedom to truly enjoy your retirement.

Many residents tell us they love having the freedom to travel; all the while knowing their home is secure. Others tell us they love having the time to spend with family and friends or pursuing favourite hobbies and pastimes, while we take care of the hard work like property maintenance. Of course, if you prefer to sit back and relax, Brightwater Village is the perfect place.

For many retirees, the companionship of others at a similar stage of life is one of the best things about a move to Brightwater Village. The size of the village means you’ll get to know your neighbours after just a short while, and many village residents have meals and join in with the activity programme at Brightwater Home next door.

A great location
Brightwater Village is located on Brightwater Terrace in Palmerston North, meaning residents can enjoy a peaceful, quiet and private retirement, while being a short distance from the city centre.

While the village is placed outside the hustle and bustle of town for peace and quiet, it is only a five minute drive from Palmerston North’s square - the heart of the city.

Brightwater Village has a bus stop right outside the entrance, meaning getting around is easy. It is also just a five minute walk to the Palmerston North Golf Club, as well as a short distance from Palmerston North’s Memorial Park and Ruamahunga Park, where you can enjoy a picnic, feed the ducks and take a leisurely stroll.

Feel good factor
The icing on the cake is knowing that by purchasing a Brightwater Village villa you’re investing in the future.

As a not-for-profit organisation, all the proceeds from the sale of Enliven’s retirement villas are invested back into Enliven facilities and into services provided by Family Works for vulnerable children and families.

Additional services
At Brightwater Village we want to make sure you’re really enjoying your retirement, so we offer a range of additional services for a small fee.

Services such as meals, laundry, and handyman services are available on a one-off, short or long-term basis.

NOTE: The Retirement Villages Act 2003 (The Act) is designed to provide improved protection for people who ‘buy’ into a retirement village. If you intend to ‘purchase’ you must get independent legal advice before signing your occupation right agreement as required under The Act. Some Retirement Village type facilities are not required to register under The Act so different legal requirements apply. Please make sure you investigate fully.

In some villages there may be some Retirement Village units that have multiple uses e.g. a Serviced Apartment may also be used as a Residential Care Suite. The same unit may therefore show in several places on Eldernet.
