The staff are wonderful

It's a nice place. No one wants their parents to end up in care and with a diagnosis of Dementia and when our mum had to move in to care very quickly after a series of bad falls we were understandably sceptical and apprehensive. The staff made an effort to get to know not just our mum but her family and friends, always make us welcome and also make themselves available to chat to if and when we needed some support in coming to terms with things. Residents have activities every day and the staff make an effort to be inclusive of needs and abilities and to promote and support independance as much as possible. It's never going to be like being at home, but the staff acknowlege this and try to make it as homely as they can.

Fitzgerald in now family owned and operated and maintains strong connections to the community.
"It is a real privilege to live here in this ‘hidden gem of Christchurch’… I felt so welcome and safe. We are surrounded by caring staff and residents who help each other… I cannot speak highly enough of my new life… in Harper Gardens".
