Built around a central garden with careful attention paid to creating a wonderful sense of home, CHT Waiuku has an emphasis on outdoor living for rest home and hospital residents while providing the best in care.

For over 55 years we have been taking great care of older people in the Auckland, Waikato and Bay of Plenty areas. Waiuku is designed around two beautiful courtyards providing a sheltered environment for outdoor living.

With light and airy spaces and generous lounges and dining areas, Waiuku Hospital and Rest Home provides opportunity for residents to be part of a community but enjoy privacy when they prefer.

At Waiuku Hospital and Rest Home as part of our Activity programme residents enjoy the following: Art, Aromatherapy, Bingo, Board games, Bowls, Cards, Care and Craft, Church, Concerts, Craft, Dancing, Entertainers, Exercises, Flower arranging, Games, Gardening, Happy Hour, Housie, Jigsaws, Library visits and access to big print books, Massage, Movies, Music, Outings, Parties, Reading, Shopping, Sing-a-longs and Videos.

We also have close links in the community with Age Concern, the Arthritis society, the RSA and Senior Citizens.

On site we have Sky TV for the resident's entertainment and a Fax.

What's included in your fees and what's not Please contact management to get up to date details on what fees do and do not include. We do not have additional accommodation charges.
Staffing qualifications and details We have a Registered Nurse on duty 24 hours a day seven days a week. All of our staff undergo inservice training on a regular basis to ensure they are equipped to deliver the best of care to our residents.
Details about meals Our main meal of the day is served at midday and a lighter meal in the evening. All meals are cooked on the premises as we are able to cater for special needs and requests. Morning and afternoon tea and supper are all provided consisting of delicious home baking - scones and date loaf being regular favourites.
Associated Complexes We are a part of the CHT group of facilities. There are nine CHT facilities throughout the greater Auckland area.

Public Transport We have a community car which is used to take resident's to the Waiuku Village shopping centre near by.
Shops Waiuku Shopping Centre is a 10 minute walk away and transport can be provided if required.
Parks Waiuku Estuary Village Park and the estuary walkways are within easy walking distance of the rest home.
Library The local public library is located in the Waiuku Estuary Village township just 10 minutes walk away.
