Finalist for fourth year in People's Choice for 40 beds or less. Lovely place to live for those at rest home level. We are closely associated with CHT St Johns Care Home just five minutes away, who provide hospital and dementia care, giving seamless transition for our residents should their needs change over time.
The peaceful garden atmosphere at CHT Royal Oak Home provides a relaxing and private sense of home for residents who can also enjoy close proximity to local shops, churches, public transport and Cornwall Park.
CHT Royal Oak’s design is centred around four suites of 10 modern spacious bedrooms with direct access to outdoor areas from each bedroom. All suites have a dedicated living room area and kitchenette.

For over 55 years we have been taking great care of older people in the Auckland, Waikato and Bay of Plenty areas. Each of our properties provides a sense of home for residents, seamless transition across levels of care and support for families.

Special Features
Our purpose built facility of 10years is all on one level. Each bedroom has a sliding door that allows the resident to walk outside and enjoy the gardens. We are a short walk to Royal Oak Mall. |

Interests & Activities
Through our Activity programme we incorporate the following activities: Aromatherapy, Art, Bingo, Board games, Bowls, Cards, Care and Craft, Entertainment, Exercises, Flower arranging, Games, Happy Hour, Indoor Games, Jigsaw, Library, Newspaper reading, Outings, Park, Shopping, Sing-a-longs and Videos. We also have a resident advocate available for the residents to discuss any concerns with and have close links with Age Concern, Alzheimer's Society, Blind Foundation, Communicare and the Stroke Group. Onsite we have a BBQ for use in warmer weather and a lovely garden. Resident's also enjoy Sky TV for indoor entertainment and our library also has an assortment of big print books for those that enjoy a read. Library books are also available from the local public library which visits every three weeks. We have many visits from children and also canine friends which is enjoyed by all. Pastoral care is also provided - please refer to religious affiliations sections below. We also have a digital camera to record the various activities and goings on at Royal Oak. |
