When it comes to everyday life, Waterlea makes it easy with rest home, day care, respite and dementia care. The well-appointed rooms all look out onto sheltered courtyards or landscaped gardens and come complete with a 24-hour call bell system, WiFi and ensuites.

Light, bright and welcoming, Waterlea is set amongst beautifully landscaped gardens, just a hop, skip and jump from the Springlands shopping centre where you’ll find all the essentials. Just a few minutes’ drive from there is the Blenheim town centre.

We offer everything from hairdressing to podiatry, spa treatments, speech therapy, a scooter bay and SKY TV. We have a range of recreational activities including board games, happy hour, gardening, crafts, free sports sweepstakes and indoor bowls. Our facility van is also always on hand for outings.

Activities Co-ordinator Yes Our activities assistant is on site 32 hours per week. Our programme incorporates one-to-one activities, group sessions and day trips.
Hairdresser Yes Our hairdresser visits on a regular basis and provides a great service at a reasonable price.
Podiatrist Yes Our skilled podiatrist visits monthly or on request.
Dietitian Yes All menus are dietitian approved. Our dietitian is available for general advice and oversees special needs. Meal delivery is available.
Accredited Visitors Yes This can be arranged on an individual basis.

Chaplain/Spiritual Advisor Yes A chaplain visits weekly, and various religious groups can be arranged to visit to provide services for all of our residents.
Other Personnel Yes Waterlea contacts Allied Health Professionals as needed, and has a GP who visits regularly and is also available on call. Additional services include email assistance, appointment transportation, pharmacy and medication administration, dental, laundry and housekeeping, speech therapy, spa treatments, and interpreter services.

Special Features
Waterlea Lifecare Complex offers all the benefits of a care facility, including entertainment, activities and companionship. The site provides a scooter bay, paraplegic toilets, and separate dining room and lounge facilities. The facility is fitted with accessibility ramps and safety grab rails, wide corridors, and smoke detectors with water sprinklers.

Waterlea also boasts magnificent landscaped rose and vegetable gardens, with a BBQ area and a courtyard for quiet and peaceful sitting and relaxing. We take pride in being warm and friendly and have become renowned for our cheerful atmosphere.

Interests & Activities
Waterlea has an extensive repertoire of activities and events, aimed at keeping the body and mind stimulated. Our Activity Coordinators focus on designing programmes for each individual at all levels of disability, to promote independence and creative expression.

Age Concern and Alzheimer's Society are easily accessed through us and we welcome them to our facility. Large print books and Blind Foundation listening books form part of our library service and we also rent DVDs or videos. Entertainers form a regular part of our programme. A piano is available to play in the main lounges.

Here are just some of the activities and interests of residents which arise on a regular basis:

Board Games, Cooking, Crafts, Crosswords & Quizzes, Dancing, Free Sports Sweepstakes, Gardening, Indoor Bowls, Movies, Sky TV, Parties, Music, Happy Hour, Newspaper Reading.

There is also active involvement in community events. Outings are an ongoing part of the activities programme and often include stopping somewhere for coffee.
