Are you concerned about your thinking or everyday functioning?

WELCOME TO NeuroHealth
At NeuroHealth, we focus on living well. Our mission is to make comprehensive neuropsychological assessments accessible to all, empowering individuals to lead their best lives. With almost thirty years of combined experience in healthcare and neuropsychology, our team offers personalised, evidence-based assessments to help you or your loved ones understand changes in cognition (thinking), memory, and attention.

WHAT IS Neuropsychology?
One of the most common questions we hear at NeuroHealth is, “What is neuropsychology?”
Neuropsychology is a specialised area of psychology focusing on the relationship between brain function and behaviour. It helps identify how changes in brain health can impact thinking, memory, attention, and emotional well-being.
For a more detailed explanation of what a neuropsychologist is and what they do, check out our What is Neuropsychology page on our website.

Service Description
Service Description
NeuroHealth offers a range of psychological and neuropsychological services, from therapy and brief consultations through to comprehensive neuropsychological assessments.

The most appropriate option depends on your needs, referral requirements, and the questions you are hoping to answer. If you’re unsure which service is right for you, our team is happy to help guide you.

If you have any questions about insurance coverage, check out our FAQ Page on our website.

1. Therapy
Our therapy sessions are provided by an experienced, NZ-registered Clinical Psychologist and are grounded in evidence-based, client-centred practice.
Therapy is tailored to your individual needs and may support difficulties such as anxiety, low mood, stress, adjustment to injury or illness, and broader emotional or psychological concerns. Sessions are collaborative, paced, and focused on building understanding, coping strategies, and meaningful change.

2. Neuropsychology Consultation
This is a one-off 90-minute consultation with a NZ-registered Clinical / Neuropsychologist
The consultation focuses on understanding your current cognitive, emotional, and functional presentation in the context of an injury or neurological condition.
There is an opportunity to discuss testing appointments following this appointment based on presenting needs.

3. Cognitive Baseline Assessment
This is a one-off, approximately 2-hour assessment with a NZ-registered Clinical / Neuropsychologist, designed to establish a baseline of your current cognitive and functional functioning.
The assessment focuses on providing a structured snapshot of how you are functioning at this point in time, using targeted cognitive screening measures, allowing subsequent reassessment as needed in the future to monitor change.

4. Capacity Assessment
his is a formal assessment of decision-making capacity conducted by a NZ-registered Clinical Psychologist. The assessment is suitable for use in legal, court, or statutory contexts, where an opinion regarding capacity is required.
The assessment focuses on whether an individual has the cognitive ability to understand, retain, weigh, and communicate decisions relevant to a specific question (e.g. financial, personal welfare, medical, or living arrangements).

3. Comprehensive Neuropsychological Assessment
A comprehensive neuropsychological assessment conducted by a NZ-registered Clinical / Neuropsychologist.
It provides a detailed understanding of how your brain is currently functioning. It explores a wide range of thinking (cognitive) skills, including memory, attention, language, problem-solving, processing speed, and multitasking.
This type of assessment also considers how psychological factors such as low mood, anxiety, fatigue, or post-traumatic stress may be affecting your cognitive function and everyday life.

If you want to learn more about these assessments or determine whether they might be useful to you, please contact us.

Here, our clients receive the understanding and personalised care they deserve, without unnecessary delays. We hope our approach empowers individuals and whānau with the knowledge and support needed to confidently navigate cognitive health challenges.
