Ultimate Care Pōneke House features comfortable surroundings with a homely setting which sets our residents at ease. We believe the most important factor for our residents is to assist them to live a full quality life, in a warm, homely, family oriented environment, one that respects and celebrates their individuality and life.
We have a wonderful established garden with views overlooking Newtown. With our multiple lounge areas and sunny courtyards there is plenty of inviting space for residents and families to enjoy.
As well as offering the comfort of security and companionship, we have a full activities programme geared to each resident’s needs and a variety of interesting regular outings.
We're also on the Newtown bus route which makes going in and out of town easy for residents and visitors alike.

Special Features
Ultimate Care Pōneke House is a warm, friendly and comfortable facility in the suburb of Newtown, Wellington. It is nestled among the trees of the Mt Victoria Town Belt area of Wellington City, with the majority of its rooms and lounges north or west facing into a very sunny outlook. A Wellington City bus-stop is right outside the door for visitors and residents. The facility is within walking distance of Wellington Hospital and a short taxi ride to other health professional services in and around Wellington City. Karen Gear is the Facility Manager, supported by Myra Tonks Clinical Services Manager and other well-qualified and competent staff (including Registered Nurses and Healthcare Assistants, Administration, Activities and Events, Maintenance, Kitchen and Laundry personnel). The Recreation Programme is well-designed and very popular with Ultimate Care Pōneke House residents and attempts to actively involve them in a variety of in-house and off-site activities on a daily basis. The van is used for outings to interesting destinations in and around Wellington City. Local residents and others from the surrounding suburbs may, by arrangement with the Facility Manager participate in the Recreation programme on-site. Ultimate Care Pōneke House endeavours to maintain a happy and friendly atmosphere for all residents and staff.
