Testimonials
"Once again your staff have gone above and beyond to ensure an enjoyable, professional, friendly recovery stay.Thank you for going the extra mile to welcome me here in the first place" Jackie Clark - 2 time interim care patient. "I arrived at Waimarie Private Hospital on November 9th 2018 and am being discharged tomorrow January 22nd 2019. During my stay at Waimarie I have only praise for all the work here.Everyone from Senior Management,Nursing staff, kitchen staff, cleaning staff and those wonderful caregivers. Everyone has shown compassion, caring, commitment in their work and a willingness to help all residents in their needs. In closing my thanks to you all for my recovery,my stay has been"more enjoyable with such caring people" With many thanks, Terry My dear mother has been resident at Waimarie Hospital for over 6 years now. She is nearly 95 years old, she is not mobile and sits in a recliner chair during the day and at night in a very comfortable bed. All cares are given to her by the lovely carers and registered nurses. Some of the caregivers have worked at Waimarie for many years and have a lot of experience with people of different ages and ethnicities and really do look after their patients with love and respect. Waimarie has a very experienced activity organiser who enhances life at the hospital offering activities, outings and entertainment and fun. One of it’s main advantages is that it is a small 50 bed facility and is able to give very personal care. The environment is very homely and though old in some areas, it is very comfortable. I highly recommend Waimarie as a place for full nursing care, respite care, rehabilitation and rest after surgery, accident or illness. Sent from my iPad Kath began visiting a friend at Waimarie during 2007 and again other friends later on.In view of the times spent during her visits to Waimarie she understood the environment and recognised that her own health had deteriorated. Thus a family decision was made to admit a wonderful friend and mother to the safe keeping of Waimarie Private Hospital. Colin Mills |

Special Features
RESPITE PROGRAM Waimarie hosts an active Respite Program which aims to accommodate varying individual needs over a one-off or regular respite period. Respite residents and their families are encouraged to visit the facility ahead of the respite period to develop familiarity with the accommodation layout, as well as outline specific requirements and considerations for staff to plan, implement and monitor during the intended stay. Upon arrival, residents are introduced to their assigned Registered Nurse, Primary Carer and Diversional Therapist, who will be their primary care providers. A short-term care plan is prepared, and a medical examination is completed. The allocation of permanent care staff to residents facilitates the rapid settling-in experience at Waimarie, and enhances the support relationship with visiting family and friends. Upon departure, respite residents, their families and the Respite Program Coordinator convene to review the stay at Waimarie, targeting improvement opportunities for future Respite Program stays. |
