Nestled in a beautiful garden setting, CHT Peacehaven Home & Hospital has provided a restful sense of home for residents for many years in a quiet neighbourhood in Blockhouse Bay.

CHT Peacehaven residents can enjoy the expansive lawns, lush gardens and light, airy spaces with spacious lounge and dining areas or take a short stroll to the local shops.

Quality care, compassion and a strong connection to the community is at the heart of CHT Healthcare Trust. For over 55 years we have been taking great care of older people in the Auckland, Waikato and Bay of Plenty areas. Each of our properties provides a sense of home for residents, seamless transition across levels of care and support for families.

As an independent healthcare trust, CHT focuses all energy and resources into caring for residents, their families and communities.

We have a swing bed policy and accommodate both rest home and hospital level care.

We are only a short walk from the shops but we are not a secured unit.

We really care about our residents and enjoy meeting their needs and wants.

We are connected with our community and enjoy easy access to Blockhouse Bay.

Our activity programme encourages close family and volunteer involvement, We encourage children to visit (we have a toybox and an opportunity for entertainment of the residents at concerts).

We enjoy BBQs and picnics at our designated area.

Our Diversional Therapy Team plays Music and does activites such as Cards, care of the Garden, Housie, Art and Craft, Bowls, Flower Arranging, Quizzes, Newspaper and other Reading and Shopping. They encourage folks to read using Big print books or tapes.

Also, CHT Healthcare Trust implements company- wide monthly themed celebrations throughout the year. This will add an extra pizzazz to daily divertional activities to the residents we have. Our food contractor will also put together a themed menu that celebrates the spirit of the occasion.

Our Chef caters for individual requirements and serves great NZ food, home cooked and nutritious.

We have an Exercise Programme led by our cheerful physiotherapist. Individual programmes are also encourged.

Religious Services are led by local Christian Parishes including Roman Catholic, Presbyterian, Anglican and Baptist.
Residents of other faiths are also welcome.

Residents have access to services such as Age Concern, Alzheimers Society, Arthritis Society, Blind Foundation,Parkinson's Society and Stroke Group. RSA social workers visit and we have a close link with Probus.

We have a holistic approach to Activities and aim to stimulate residents Physically, Socially, Intellectually and Spiritually. We enable residents to pursue their individual Hobbies and Interests such as Stroke Club, Church or club.

Staffing qualifications and details Our Unit Manager ( Registered Nurse) and Clinical Coordinator (Registered Nurse) supervises the Registered Nurses to ensure a consistent delivery of care to our residents. The nurses supervise a team of Healthcare Assistants.
Details about meals Our CHEF produces great New Zealand food cooked on site with the best fresh produce. Special diets are catered for.
Associated Complexes We have a General Practitioner and with 24/7 access. We have a support from our Area Manager and Head office. Also, support from Auckland District Health Board.
