Radius Matua is a modern bed rest home, hospital and dementia care facility that provides round the clock care for those who can no longer manage safely on their own.
We put the diverse care needs of our residents first. Our staff provide individualised care, that allows all our residents to live with dignity and as independently as possible.
Our park-like gardens and sheltered court yards provide a tranquil place to relax and spend time.
All the rooms of our residential care facility have their own individual attached en suite.
We provide: - On site registered nurses 24 hours a day.
- Qualified staff on duty 24 hours a day.
- Breakfast and snacks served in individual rooms; other meals served in the communal dining room.
- Emergency call bells in all bedrooms.
- On site weekly church service.
- Access to specialist services in the hospital includes physiotherapy, occupational therapy, dietician and podiatry
- A full activities programme.
- Tasty nutritious meals; special and vegetarian meals are available if required.
- Flexible visiting hours.
The majority of the rooms are single, with a few double rooms for married couples or those who prefer the company.
All residents rooms are temperature controlled, and equipped with a telephone outlet and television points.
The hospital’s interior is designed to create a warm and comfortable atmosphere. Rest home lounges flow onto central courtyards "bringing the outdoors in".

Special Features
Lavender Court is a specialised residential unit within the Radius Matua complex, designed specifically for people with dementia. We aim to provide a home like atmosphere which enables the residents to be themselves and to retain their self respect and dignity. We would particularly like to know about your relative or friend's life e.g. what they did, their hobbies etc to help us to enable them to continue to live a happy and fulfilled life with us here in Lavender Court. |

Interests & Activities
Each resident in Lavender Court has an individual 24 hour activities care plan created by our registered nurses and enrolled nurses in consultation with the care assistants and relatives. The daily activity programme is compiled by the diversional and occupational therapists. Activities include - exercises, gardening, sing-a-longs, sweeping floors, hanging out the washing, folding washing, relaxation exercises, walking group, chime therapy, cooking / baking, household tasks, church service, individual hobbies, collage work, lawn mowing, men's activities. Families are encouraged to visit with their pets and small children. |
