Braintree is an innovative, first-of-its-kind project currently happening in Ōtautahi-Christchurch that will support people living with neurological conditions to live well in the community once the facility build has been completed. Construction of the building began in March 2021, and the centre is expected to open its doors to the community by May 2022. Braintree will become the new 'hub' for neurological care in the community, as charities such as Dementia Canterbury, Multiple Sclerosis & Parkinson’s Canterbury, Stroke Foundation NZ, ME/CFS Canterbury, Muscular Dystrophy Association, and Southern Music Therapy are now being invited to occupy the centre.
