We are a stand-alone non -profit organisation relying on fund raising to support the work we do in our community. Our focus is one of advocacy, support networking and working collaborate with other agencies for elderly in Timaru, Temuka, Geraldine, Waimate and the greater Anorak area. This support includes family members of our elderly. We have the highest percentage of elderly in our area and increasing which is reflected in the increased need for the services we have, i.e. advocacy, Total Mobility , agents for Grey Power, Cosy Homes, Healthy Homes, bus trips, Handyman Service, Toe nail cutting Service, Mature Driving Courses, Life Tubes and lots more. The increase in awareness that elder abuse is not acceptable has encouraged more elderly to seek support from our organisation. The elderly can continue to participate and contribute to our community. Our aim is to continue to develop collaborative support with other relevant organisations and empower individuals through information and education. In April 2014 we became and associated member of Age Concern New Zealand. |
