Community Organisations Yes Pakeke Centre is a Day Centre for the elderly and socially isolated citizens within CHB. You are very welcome to call in and visit us and see Pakeke Centre in operation. Our aim is to enhance your twilight years with fun, friendship and companionship.
Fitness and Recreation Yes We offer a gentle exercise programme via DVD in line with your own ability. Along with activities that promote fun, friendship and communication. We provide stimulating outings and invite guest speakers into Pakeke to engage with staff and clients.

Day Centre for the Over 70's. Are you lonely, socially isolated, bored? Have you just moved to Waipukurau and don't know anyone, come and join us for a day to see what we do and join in the fun. We will pick you up from your home from 9am onward so that you can join us for hot scones for morning tea, have a midday 2 course meal and deliver you home at 3pm after a fun day's activities

We offer a very wide range of entertainments, speakers, craft making, exercises, mental and physical stimulation and above all, FUN. We have a caring, nurturing environment where friendships are made, good companionship, no two days are the same. We arrange numerous outings to places of interest. We have a team of competent and caring staff who enjoy providing a centre based activity program.

Day Programme (Dementia Care) Yes Yes No Our service is available for clients with early stage dementia or a mental disability, enabling carers respite time.
Day Programme (Non Dementia) Yes Yes No We have a pick-up/drop-off service to and from the Centre on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from Takapau to Otane, including Waipukurau & Waipawa.
Lunch Yes Yes No Two course lunch plus morning and afternoon tea
Club/Drop in Centre Yes Yes No Enjoy a range of activities with 'Brain Teaser', quizzes, gently physical exercises, indoor games,interesting and informative speakers, music entertainment, outings to places of interest, occasionally a luncheon out.
Activities/Exercise Programme Yes Yes No Gentle exercises. Activities are carefully developed so that everyone may join in.
Other Social Support Yes Yes No Funding is available to those who have been assessed as requiring Home Assistance. Please make inquiries with the Coordinator.
