The Marlborough District Council provides a number of services and communication channels for discussing issues with older members of the community. These include:
* Monthly Older Persons forums are held with groups who provide services for the elderly. This forum aims to improve communication and address any issues that arise to ensure the future well-being of the elderly in the community.
* Access & Mobility forums are held quarterly with representatives of groups working in the disability sector including consumers.
* Access needs for all groups, including access for mobility scooters are also investigated when developing walking tracks on Council reserves and public conveniences.
* Libraries in Blenheim and Picton provides a wide range of resources including: Large Print books, Talking Books - books recorded on to Cassette or CD, Magazines,Newspapers, Videos, Puzzles, Music Cassettes and CD's. A homebound service is also available to those confined to home.
