|Our Community advisors in the North and South provide home visits, information, support and advocacy to anyone caring our living with dementia. We also provide monthly carer support groups and coffee mornings.
We run day programme's in New Plymouth and Hawera for folk with dementia which are designed to provide cognitive stimulation activities to enhance self-esteem and wellbeing. Morning tea and lunch are provided and there are physical exercises along with music, singing, cards, quiz's and games. This allows carers to have a day to themselves.
Our Community educator provides sessions about dementia through out the year to community groups and organisation's and ongoing training for rest homes, GP practices, families and the general public.
A wandatrak system is offered to our community to allow people living with dementia safety and support if they become lost.
