Age Concern Flaxmere is a local independent charity working together to improve the quality of life for older people, which is part of a national network of regional Age Concern councils under the umbrella of Age Concern New Zealand. Our vision is an inclusive society where people of all ages and cultures, as they grow older, have opportunities to make choices which lead to quality of life and personal fulfillment. Age Concern Flaxmere provide a variety of programmes and services to older people that ensures a quality of life of their choosing. Our new premises provides a drop-in centre for our members and the local community to encourage interaction and social independance. We offer transport to and from doctor appointments, Advocacy on Request, Elder abuse and Neglect Preventions (Referral Service), Individuals with disabilities lottery grants, Accredited Visiting Services, Wheelchair Hireage, Mobility Parking Permit Applications, Social and Educational activities/trips and an experienced Field Worker who will listen and discuss issues with you. |
